it's a little past that, but sure, it's 1:30 somewhere
These events have me frightened and on the verge of evacuating my bowels.
takes colon's spot.
recall: LHP whisler sent down for RHP contreras; RHP colon to DL; LHP poreda called up. seems pretty simple to me.

the question is when Poreda starts
which will be answered later.

can’t see contreras on three days. maybe richard but i doubt it.

that was my point larry
what spot in the rotation does he take. can’t go on 3 days rest so he grabs richards spot with poreda grabbing colons.
There was a doubleheader...
He doesn’t have to take anyone’s spot yet. There is an open spot Friday for Poreda unless someone goes on short rest. After that it will sort itself out.

I neglected that issue
I don’t know why they’d purchase his contract today, though.

rainy weather the next couple days.
and he could also use a side session, which could come during today’s game.

Good move.
You can’t expect Contreas to hold up too long with out starting up his streak of suck again.
or on Saturday.

a little off the parade topic
but i just read this on soxmachine :
“When I got my first taste of the big leagues in 2006, it was everything that I had dreamed about,” Fields said. “But the further I got into my professional career, the more I had to deal with everything else that goes along with being a professional athlete. There were so many things going on in the clubhouse that I really questioned if professional baseball was for me. However, I prayed about it and realized there is nowhere I could have more influence right now than in that clubhouse.”
and this shit does not sit well with me. i may be picking a bad argument as i know better then to discuss religion…but im a good catholic. i like my beer, unprotected sex, and go to confession. with that being said, STFU fields and just play baseball…i hope you get a chance to witness to the minors

I wrote Fields off then. Ozzie’s clubhouse was too much for him? He can go die.

cst_sox: Colon on the DL… with some phantom knee injury for chubby guys. Poreda is officially up.
Link: http://twitter.com/cst_sox/statuses/2094199317
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
So. Perhaps KennyGM has given a 2 week window to the team?
Really, nothing more needs to be done while Colon is on the DL, right? He’s brought up the best youngsters he has (ready or not, doesn’t matter), position and pitching-wise. Maybe a funtional Q is ready to contribute soon, then we see what we have. If signs of life, great…perhaps the Sox turn into buyers if need be. If these moves don’t work, we’ll all agree if he decides to blow them up.
Though personally I’d rather see that window open for a bigger sample.
The City of Chicago, led by Mayor Daley and a vast and tumorous army of aldermen and bagmen and yesmen and opportunists and spineless, parasitic political-machine halfwits of forms never seen outside the roiling cesspool of governmental slop-trough greed, has proven itself unworthy of something as potentially delicious and fulfilling as the 2016 Olympic Games.

MDGonzales: Poreda to stay in pen; Richard, Contreras and Buehrle to face Milwaukee on Sunday while Colon on DL because of (ahem) left knee swelling.

I guess the long men in the bullpen have been upgraded.

Ozzie
Ozzie Guillen was very clear on two fronts Tuesday.
First, that Aaron Poreda is not here to develop, he’s here to produce out of the bullpen. And if he doesn’t?
“I talked to him and made it real clear, ‘If you don’t pitch well, you’re going to have O’Hare Airport next to you pretty soon,’ ‘’ Guillen explained. "I said, ’Did you arrive at Midway or O’Hare?’ He said, ’O’Hare.’ I said, ‘’Well, on the way back, Midway is closer.’ Because this is to win. I think he can help us, I think our scouting report and our minor-league people said we can count on him to win. It’s another good arm in the bullpen. This kid can be used as a long man, against anybody, lefty or righty, and he gives me another good arm in the pen.
“This isn’t instructional league. I make it really clear to him, this isn’t development. You’re going to be treated the same way as everyone else. If you don’t do the job, we have Southwest airlines waiting for you to go to Charlotte. That’s the only one with nonstop, I already checked.’’

Gordon Beckham is back in the starting lineup tonight against the Tigers, batting seventh.
The White Sox’ rookie third baseman (0-for-13) is still looking for his first big-league hit, and two scouts have some advice for him.
"He looks like a pretty good athlete," one scout said. "But he’s got to change his swing or (pitchers) are going to keep pounding him inside."
"The way his swing is, he’s got no chance right now," another scout said. "They’re going to keep working him in until he makes an adjustment."
Beckham has looked overanxious so far, and his swing has been way too long. He needs to shorten up and get more on top of pitches.
