I Like the White Sox: Happy Halladays
On your mark, get set, go.
Clayton Richard, you smiling son of a bitch. One inning? That was the best you can do? One fucking inning? Come on man. You're better than that. Oh you're not? Well shit man, thanks for telling us. Perhaps we can put the illegal Michael Jackson fan in your place after All Star break. I loved your work in the post season last year, and that game at Yankee Stadium, you shut them down young man. But 1-2 with a 10.50 ERA in your last 5 starts. Dude, come on, you are better than this. Perhaps you need to go back to long relief.
Oh the other side of the coin, I love how the rotation has been working lately. I think there is hope for greatness. Yes, I know everyone is going to flame me for that, but I believe in this team and I have even when they were sucking. But now a huge test awaits, the terrordome.
The Twins, my most hated team, and maybe yours too. From the Jack Morris rebirth to Kirby Puckett. How many times in this decade have the Twins gotten the best of the Sox? Remember when Jamie Burke was run over by Torii Hunter? Justin Morneau made the comment " I want anybody but the White Sox to win the division." Ofcourse there's Punto who gets ripped on alot on this site. By the way, where did that all begin here I was wondering? Fill me in please. You ever want to grab yourself a blowtorch and shoot it at those posters in the Metrodome in the outfield with all their "tribute players." Perhaps you just want to blow the bitch up. Thank God its closing this year.
So here we are talking about pitcher, and let the debate begin. Halladay needs to come to the Sox. We will win the World Series if he does. I say do what we need to do EXCEPT Beckham. Beckham is a deal breaker. I am really starting to think this kid is the real deal. His BA spiked through the roof and he is much different than that kid I saw play Oakland. I guess the big question is what do we have for Halladay. You guys are the experts. I personally am for trading whoever to get him. We are releasing lots of payroll next year and we can use some of that on him. He is IMO one the best pitchers in baseball and if we get him, you are looking at Doc, Buehrle, Danks, Floyd, Contreras. Scary, scary, scary. Add the bullpen to that mix, you are looking at the 2009 World Series Champs, the Chicago White Sox,
Just my opinion guys. Hope you have a great weekend and here's to the Sox taking 2 of 3 from the Twins in that wretched terrordome.

I just accidentally the Fleshlight.
Accidentally what?
THE WHOLE THING!!
Halladay would be a great addition
but I don’y want to morgage our whole future on one pitcher. I would say give Richard one more start, if he doesn’t perform, move him to long relief and try to trade for a cheaper SP. But give him a little moer lineance, he started on short rest
No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded. - Yogi Berra
I agree with you
The rotation is performing amazingly the past few weeks to the point where we have 4 guys capable of giving us shut-down Halladay-like stretches. If Contreras was struggling I think it would make sense to go out and get the big gun, but at this point it doesn’t need to happen. The bullpen is good enough to cover a pitcher like Bartolo/Clayton/Poreda or whoever. No need to ship out whatever young talent we have to make a run this year when we are already making that run with what we have.

Punto is the ultimate piranha
He would do whatever it takes for his team to get the victory, whether that be a headfirst slide into first base, donating blood to a sick teammate, or removing his kidney to become faster on the base paths.
I'd love to see Halladay in a Sox uniform
the problem is that the people it would take to get him are long-term pieces of the puzzle for the Sox. What I’ve read is 3-4 top prospects, two of which would be ready for the big leagues next year.
Do you want to give up Alexi or Beckham (maybe it would take both)? Who plays 3B when one of the two leave?
This strikes me as a situation where the Sox would improve their pitching, but be significantly downgrading their position players this year and for the next few years if they weren’t to sign some free agents. I think a wiser target would be a legit CF under contract for 2 years (which would also cost a ton).

Add Flowers to the list of untouchables
he’s killing it at Birmingham and even if he’s a butcher behind the plate, he could make the switch to 1B. Maybe AJ and Hawk could tutor him on the art of blaming the pitcher for every stolen base. Flowers has more walks in half a season than AJ has in 3 years.
As for a trade: Viceido, Poreda, and the Jays pick of any of the following 2: Nix, Anderson, Richard, Fields, Bag of balls, Greg Walker, Hawk’s bronzed golf glove that became the first batting glove, or a dozen churros. Actually they can have all of those.
i dont think we'd trade nix
we wouldnt have a utility infielder. fields is NOT an option nor is bettermit. i do, however, agree about dayan fields poreda and richard. (clearly) they can have colon back, as we wouldnt need him if we got Doc.
I just accidentally the Fleshlight.
Accidentally what?
THE WHOLE THING!!
If a GM allows Jayson Nix to hold up a trade
Said GM should be fired.
EVERYBODY PICK US FOR 3RD OR 4TH SO I DINK WE DOIN POOTY GOO
Sox Machine
that actually should be a legit deal for halladay
maybe throw in Colon to fil their whole in the rotation
I Have Spoken.
What do you guys think about a deal centered around
Quentin and Poreda for Halladay?
