Mark Buehrle Breaks Major League Record For Consecutive Batters Retired
Mark Buehrle took a perfect game into the 6th inning Tuesday night in Minnesota to break the major league mark for consecutive batters retired. Buehrle retired the last batter he faced against Baltimore before retiring all 27 he faced against the Rays, then added another 17 to bring the total to 45 consecutive batters before issuing a 2-out walk to Alexi Casilla.
Buehrle broke the mark of fellow teammate Bobby Jenks who went a month without allowing a hitter to reach safely in 2007.

I love this team again. I know they’re bad for me.

Top 3 in the ALC all 4-6 over the last 10.
Does someone HAVE to go to the playoffs from this POS division?

I'm sure the Rays would love otherwise
But, no one cares about them, so we’re on a collision course to re-enact the 2000 ALDS.

Seattle sweeps us?
May I disembowel myself now, or do I have to wait until Aardsma saves his 3rd game?

Truly hopeful with a .143 win %.
But I bet we go 6-1 at home! Meaning .500 overall.

Oh, I'll go with 3 of 4, Gene.
(Snicker.) And Swisher with the game-saving error allowing us to win the series. Though it will not be scored as such.

real injury or do the Sox want to see what Richard can do in his next start?
-Jeeves Life in the Cell
More like they didn't want others to see
What he would do in his next start and that’s why he went to the bullpen in the first place. I doubt they think he can do it again, so keep his trade value at it’s peak by keeping him off the field. Once the trade deadline passed, I’d bet he was going back into the rotation no matter what.

good call
I didn’t think of it like that
-Jeeves Life in the Cell
I went to this game.
Twins fans are jackasses (well, the type in the cheap seats, at least). Going to have to clean nacho sauce out of my Buehrle jersey.
Anyway, I’d love to say the game was fun anyway, but the Dome is a great hole sucking all warmth, enjoyment, and love from all so unfortunate to be under its malignant shroud, and the harsh, unrelenting frown of its klieg lights serve only to blind all eyes to anything that might be seen as pleasant. I may not have left with a memory of a win, but I know in my heart I will always have the silhouette of those lights burned into my retinas, and my neck and back shall forevermore remain misaligned as result of the unnatural contortions necessary to see home plate from the blue plastic devices they so mockingly call “seats.”
Also, the coke was really fucking watery.

BTW, Cheat, I applaud putting up the post-game thread in the middle of the game
In fact, I recommend tomorrow that you put a post-game thread before it even starts, as we all know how these dome games are going to turn out anyway.
fucking dome
That would save us the time of posting too
