How did he end up doing in the CWS?
I got the impression that it was, over all, a fairly strong performance.

I love this team again. I know they’re bad for me.
They’ll probably get drunk again and beat me… but I just can’t help myself.

nice
also, this is weird:
Cubs RHP Carlos Zambrano(notes), Tuesday’s losing pitcher, was in the press box more than three hours before Wednesday’s game singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" to an empty Wrigley Field.
from yahoo
three hours? he had to be stoned, right?

that song takes 1 minute to sing.
so he was up there for about 179 extra minutes.

You're kidding, right? It doesn't say FOR 3 hours
Hard to tell with all the kids running around. They own the right rail, but now they’re all over the place.

Players are expected to be at the game that early
The doors to the clubhouse open for the media 3.5 hours before game time.

I saw just about all his AB's in the CWS
He has trouble with lefties and breaking balls, but I was impressed with his patience and ability to work the count which is great because of his speed. Like Beckham he seems to like to hit the ball the other way with power. It’s tough to tell how the metal bats play into it, but he seemed to be playing pepper with the left center wall for most of the tournament. He can absolutely fly around the bases. In the championship game he hit a bomb down the right field line for a 3 run HR so he can turn on an inside pitch. Defense seems medicore.
This was the first year he was able to skip spring football to concentrate on baseball and it’s paid off for him. Highly doubt he will rise anywhere near as quick as Gordo, but I could see him in a Sox uni around 2012 when the station to station team we’ve seen for the last few years will be history.
Didtn see this when I asked my qustion below.

Yeah, LSU won and Mitchell
was MVP of the tourney or whatever award they give to the best player. Should be fun to see his reaction to some of the Hawkisms that I’m sure will be part of the interview.
I saw him hit a double, IIRC, to left
off a lefty who threw him a breaking ball. I am on record last month – this is the most exciting kid, from a physical perspective, that we’ve drafted since I have been alive. And that includes Borchard – this kid is BJ Upton. And I would KILL for Upton in CF for the next 5-8 years.
I have to shower now.

a passive-aggressive statement against your father, yes?
You can’t blame him, he’s just a victim of his time and place. But you’re a big boy now, and you don’t have to feel guilty about what race you fantasize about.
