Dotel and Thornton are the “with a lead” guys. Linebrink’s trash, everybody else is unproven or proven untrustworthy. Pena’s been fairly effective. I would have done the same.

the sad thing is that this used to be a great website to read
and i really learned a lot about baseball from being here but over the last few months the average intelligence level of the posters has taken a severe drop. i’ve read more posts that talk about subjects without any understanding or statistical foundation lately these last couple months than i remember from my previous 3 years on the site.

and also, part of this may be my own understanding and knowledge improving, but i see more and more people come here with what they believe is right and refuse to acknowledge another point of view even when presented with facts. people are not taking time to back their arguments and when that is questioned, they attack the person disagreeing with them. it does not make an enjoyable discourse to follow or make someone want to join.
when i started reading this site, i completely lurked until i felt like i had read enough information to be able to understand what people are saying. i don’t feel like i see that in many new posters which means my options are to either sift through a bunch of crap or stop reading something that i’ve really enjoyed. neither seem like particularly enjoyable options but with school starting, i have to make a decision about managing my time.
