Half Price Mondays Suck
So last night I went to the Sox game. Probably my 15th game of the season, and I noticed something on Mondays that has become a trend. The crowd absolutely sucks. When Rios came up for his very first home AB I could here crickets. No acknowledgment for the new guy? WTF? He was so upset he ground into a double play the poor guy. First JD has been yelling at him and then hes dissed by the fans. Now I know monday is the Pods/Paully crowd because they need the t-shirt to know who these guys are, but c'mon.
this Chevy girl has a better arm than over half the Royals bullpen
There are some appropriate times to clap besides when the scoreboard tells you to, people. When one guy is standing up clapping at least back his play and try to look like you know what the fucks going on. Yeah, thats hard to do in your Dirty 30 t-shirt...
(FUCK NICK SWISHER) but last night was the quietest sell out crowd I have ever heard at any sort of event.
Until the 5th inning of course when the cheap seaters lost all interest in the one run game and started up everyones favorite, the Wave. Woo. God Damn simpletons. Now I know most people are starved for entertainment, thats why such a thing as haunted ghost tours exist, but come on. I heard on the way out a bunch younger girls talking about what a great game it was, and I gotta believe they thought that because it had two key elements, the wave and a win. It just bugs me that as a whole we arent more educated as a fan base like St. Louis or dare I say Boston or Yankee fans. Now I know there are a lot of sheep in there, especially on the last two bandwagons, but at least they are smart enough to follow the lead of the ones that actually know whats up instead of just sitting there trying to look like a bad-ass or something.
This is just something that has been bugging me about our fan-base, but I guess it could be worse.

agreed the wave was really annoying
people in our section we very much against it which was nice
here’s my problem though.
THE CROWD SHOULD BE ITS LOUDEST FOR THE GAME NOT THE FUCKING CROWD METER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you can cheer for a damn noise gauge you can cheer for the team you’re rooting for. It’s bullshit.
Praise Him!!

yeah, i was up in the cheap seats.
and when the wave started (top of the sixth) I couldn’t be more pissed. Especially when the fucks cheer or boo depending on how far it gets. The wave just makes pathetic people feel like they are a part of something. It’s not 1992 anymore, lets get over that fucking shit.

Castro ran into the dugout and told pitcher Jose Contreras, "He hasn't missed a spot all day. I think hes going to do it." Contreras replied, "Shut the fuck up."

noise level has been down quite a bit this season
Every game I have gone to this year it has been pretty quiet. It is like people need game 163 to get into it.
And yes, Monday’s crowds are pretty soft. A lot of kids and BS like that.
Let’s see what tonight brings.

The Sox fan base used to be pretty good.
then we won the world series and everything blew up in our faces. Now there are too many “cub like” sox fans.

I'll never forget right after the WS when I was getting my championship sweatshirt. A couple girls were rifling through the player tshirts and one said, "Iguchi. I don't know who that is, but I like his name, so I'll get this one!"
Assholes.

Ehh -- comes with the territory
The more “assholes” (I know that comment was some degree of tongue-in-cheek but I’m gonna quote it anyways) buying merchandise and tickets and beer, the more $$$ Kenny gets to play with. In the end I take my peace-of-mind from the fact that the level of enjoyment I derive from the Sox doing something really special exponentially exceeds that of the folks who started following when “OMG THEY GOT PEAVEY!”*
*Not that those folks are even ‘following’ right now, mind you.

the drunk next to me at the perfecto had the gall to ask what was going on that's so special that everybody was standing and cheering
this was in the 9th inning.
These events have me frightened and on the verge of evacuating my bowels.

I think he had a valid question
For reals, it’s not like there hadn’t been 18 thrown in baseball history or something. Give us something new, something interesting. I don’t know, show us your titties.
This perfect game shit is so played out.

Can't have it both ways, small market fanbase with a big market budget
Just be glad the ballpark experience isn’t one giant advertisement like a Bulls game.
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

any yankees away game is really fusturating
I was at Buehrles first home start after the perfect game and kept hearing “lets go yankees”, it was seriously 60-40 in our favor
I wanted to scream at all of them

don't go to a Red Sox v Sox game

i hear you. and it's definitely not just on mondays.
i think pretty much all fans are completely brutal. i always look around at the games and try to figure out why about 75% of them are at the game at all. i’ve never come up with a logical answer to explain their behavior.
it is what it is......

even more disappointing is the personification of the stereotypes my cubs fan friends always joke about.
sleeveless t-shirts. jean shorts. bad facial hair. questionable hygiene. it’s so embarrassing. there’s a lot of trash roaming around that stadium. too bad the kenwo’s and wtgtd’s and the other mouthbreathers of the sox fanbase give the rest of us a bad name.

The one I can't stand the most is the "you have no fans sterotype"
Its perplexing in many ways. First, the White Sox are a top 10 team when it comes to fanbase size. Second, the Cubs usually fucking suck, so are they admitting they like shitty baseball? Maybe they are not paying attention or going just in hopes of being seen at Wrigley? Fuckin confusing.

That stupid wave happened again last night
I was so pissed off. It came through our section when we were leading by one run. Sure enough it came during the same inning the Royals tied it and then took the lead. I didnt even get to see Billy Butler’s double and curse at it because dumbasses were standing up to do the wave right on his contact. I was sitting in my regular section for season tickets, I figured our season ticket holders would have the decency to stop this ode to fair weather fans. It is bad enough starting the wave, but if the Sox were up 11-0, I wouldnt care. Because it was a close game, it made our crowd look stupid.

I was there on Tuesday as well.
The wave is embarrassing. It just makes you look like you are at a junior varsity basketball game. A lot of fans in my section, which has plenty of season ticket holders, did not participate.
As stupid as it may be, I can’t be that pissed off about people having fun. It was a great crowd for a Tuesday night, so as a season ticket holder, I’m just happy the stadium seemed fairly packed. It’s nice to see. Let’s just check the wave at the gates next time.

and leave the throw the ball back there too!
That pisses me off even more than the wave. Especially since I usually only see the waves on nights like Monday
