With the addition of Freddy Garcia, the White Sox 40 man roster stands at 40. Assuming, for amusement's sake, that the White Sox do not release Bartolo Colon, which minor leaguer currently on the 40 man roster would you outright in order to make room for a September call-up not currently on the 40 man?

How accurate are LD rates and those
such statistics at minor league levels? It would seem that they might be a tad suspect, especially in comparison to the MLB data, right?

Nice work, however:
Some team is going to get a steal in Jason Giambi. Willy Aybar is deserving of full-time action. Nick Swisher and Austin Kearns are a lot better than they showed in 08. Would you believe that Brandon Boggs had the highest xBABIP in 2008 of any player in our database? Jim Edmonds may not be done quite yet. Adrian Beltre is very underrated.
Slightly off on Giambi and Edmonds. And, of course, FNS.

Is Hudson a good option for the White Sox rotation today? How about as the number 5 next year, or are his numbers misleading.
Jim Callis: He’s held his own in Triple-A and the White Sox need pitching help ASAP, so why not? Hudson won’t blow the ball by hitters, but he has good life on his pitches and works down in the zone, so there’s no reason he couldn’t help in Chicago.

Nathan Jones, rhp, White Sox: Some scouts have been high on Jones since he signed with the White Sox in 2007 as a fifth-round pick from Northern Kentucky. Jones, 23, has a mid-90s fastball that touches 98 mph, but coming into the year he had problems finding the strike zone, as he posted a 6.83 ERA last year split between the starting rotation and the bullpen with low Class A Kannapolis. Now in the bullpen at high Class A Winston-Salem, Jones still has that overpowering fastball, only this year he’s found the strike zone. In 27 appearances with Winston-Salem, Jones has averaged 8.3 strikeouts and 2.7 walks per nine innings andd has a 3.53 ERA.
