Must've tallied it before the Spanks' series.

Didn’t PK muff a couple?

they are only counting "scoops" so it wouldn't matter

Sox win, cubs lose.....what a wonderful world!

Aren't they missing sort of an important variable here?

I was thinking actual scoop attempts?

I mean I don’t know if they are so consistent that it doesn’t matter, but it would seem a count rate stat would need to be taken with a grain of salt without including actual number of attempts. Maybe the reason Konerko is ‘suddenly’ so good this year is that Ramirez throws a lot more balls into the dirt than OCab did. I don’t know, just saying it seems to be a big leap in my opinion to start saying someone is better than someone else without that piece of info.

That's what I thought you meant.

Like % of successful scoops vs. total scoops.

This?

The true difference between Gold Glover Mark Teixeira and Jason Giambi is in handling grounders. In the last two years Teixeira has saved his teams 18 runs fielding grounders, while Giambi has cost his team 18, a 36-run difference in Defensive Runs Saved. (Defensive Runs Saved is a statistic developed in The Fielding Bible—Volume II.)

I think its really funny that Alexei wants a gold glove at short stop when its

probably Paulie that will get one (or more likely to get one) from scooping up all of Alexei’s lazy tosses

i'll delete your SSS existence in a second. there is nothing that allows SSS posters, at any one moment, to keep posting, but the mere pleasure of larry.
