Ozzie Guillen Does Not Like Football: "And I’m going to make it clear. It’s a bunch of (bleeps) out there watching football games like a piece of (bleep) with no pride, the way they (bleep-bleep) play, and that’s embarrassing. If you don’t have pride to play this game and you don’t care about it, get another job. Because I know I’m going to be all over the stinking place when I talk about this. I’m not in a pennant race, but at least I have some pride and at least I have something to fight for and at least I have something to show up to this ballpark and play for. And when you go out there and you turn your TV on and watch stupid (bleep) football when those (bleep-bleep) football players don’t give a (bleep) about you, that’s embarrassing. We’ve got how many games, seven games, they’ve got to put their (bleep) together. Because I don’t mind losing games. That’s part of the game. But when you lose games and you don’t even care about it, we’re going to have problems. I run this ballclub and I’m going to run this ballclub the way I want to. If they don’t want me here, I'll get another job, or get me other players. But getting your (bleep) kicked like that, then all of a sudden you’re watching football games, that’s a bunch of (bleep)."

I’m a relapsing ND fan, I quit last year but the shit is stronger this year.
I fucking hate Weis though.
I doubt ND will ever be a top 5 program again. Who the fuck is going to want to play in South Bend. I lived there for a year, it sucked, no offense to anyone who currently does. I can’t say shit because I was born and raised in Rockford. But South Ben just doesn’t stack up with USC,Florida, Miami, Texas etc.
ND is mainly pulling in kids that know the majority will not go pro but are good enough to play for an ivy league quality education

seriously… another ozzie media rant… wow. I’m sure it will have 0 effect on the team like the last one did because Ozzie is played out. Look in the mirror you cocksucker! you are the one that left the starter in way too long to begin with. I am sick of Ozzie. Time for a new voice.
(I’m not saying i disagree with what he said…but when you say the same shit over and over and over it loses its effect) – this coming from the guy that still wishes Rob Mackowiak gets hit by a bus for his 2006 performance in center. jagoff!

Just wondering...
Why do you want to get rid of Ozzie? For the most part he has produced winning teams. Who cares if this rant has “0 effect on the team like the last one”.
The Season is over, but I think we are pretty stacked for next year. Who else besides Ozzie would you realistically want at the helm? IMO the guy is an integral part of next year. He makes occasional mistakes (he is human) but Ozzie is a very under manager.
by 815Sox on Sep 27, 2009 2:03 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Tony Larussa would be good.
for the most part ozzie had winning seasons- so did terry bevington and jerry manuel. Ozzie’s teams always suck in the 2nd half. They are fundamentally poor even though he claims to work on them 24/7 in spring training. They don’t do anything in pregame as per myself in boston and bert blyleven in minnesota.
These are all managerial issues. Just because he is good for a quote doesn’t mean he is a good manager…. and just because he was the manager in 2005 when we won the world series also doesn’t mean he is a good manager.
He runs out good players like orlando cabrera, damaso marte and javy vazquez just because he doesn’t like them. he carries too many grudges. its ridiculous. he rips every player that leaves the sox from Ordonez to Thomas to Crede to Swisher….. its annoying and old. act like a pro you douche bag.

We all know LaRussa will just tell the team “Play harder assholes.” and they’ll go on to win 110 games. It’s not like the offense has some serious flaws.
And, of course, Ozzie is the one who is running guys out of town with a pitchfork. Kenny Williams just sits in his office watching anime porn while Ozzie makes up the roster while mowing Reinsdorf’s lawn.

i know i haven’t really been writing much (more like anything) lately, but that’s because i haven’t really had much time to watch baseball since school started back up and i’ve been working on my vet school apps. in a week, which is also unfortunately the end of the season, i can actually start dedicating time to the site again.

I have a couple....
1- you are a smart aleck. you always have some kind of backhanded answer to people’s posts.
2- I know others have these same answers IE Larry, WU, Cheat and others… but the difference is they know what they are talking about.
3- once in a great while you start some decent threads but you never complete them. Im still waiting to see who won the greatest white sox team tournament.
4- I find it hard to respect your posts because I feel that you have a lack of baseball knowledge.
5- I find it hard to believe you are an editor on a White Sox site yet you have a very limited knowledge of the franchises history.
Prove me wrong… show some knowledge that you don’t first hear from Larry, Cheat or Colin.

rebuttal
1. i am a smart alec, but who honestly on here isn’t? my answers are not always backhanded
3. i’ve apologized for not finishing those threads, but being a student is always going to come first and i do get hit with time crunches.
4. really kenwo? i lack baseball knowledge? i don’t know how much time i’ve wasted watching baseball and reading about it.
5. where is this limited knowledge displayed? i did all the research for the all-time series on my own and would say i have well-above average knowledge of the franchise’s history for a 21-year old.
it’s nice finally knowing where the hate comes from, it still just seems pretty baseless.

Konerko said he didn't see Ozzie get pissed.
That’s the problem. Ozzie walks through the clubhouse, sees things he doesn’t like and then goes and rips them on TV. How can players respect a manager like that? A good manager would hold a team meeting and chew their asses in private or pull the players aside that he has a problem with and discuss it. The press loves Ozzie and so do most fans but I’m sure most players can’t stand him regardless of what the players say publicly.
Konerko said he’s all for no music, no tv and no kids in the locker room after a loss so he understands why Oz would be upset. I’m assuming it’s a clubhouse rule? If so, it’s pretty easy to address with the players breaking the rule. It wouldn’t require a huge set of balls to confront them but it requires no balls whatsoever to deliver the message through the media.

more interesting stuff from gregor.
Tyler Flowers is making his first start at catcher tonight. The rookie was added to the White Sox’ lineup when scheduled starter Ramon Castro injured himself during batting practice.
Flowers is handling himself well behind the plate, and he provides a big target.
The guess here is Flowers is going to eventually hit for power, but for now, he’s showing a veteran eye at the plate.
Look for Flowers to replace Castro as A.J. Pierzynski’s understudy in 2010.
and this is for you, dante.
Did you see this rumor _ Jake Peavy to the Cubs in a trade for Carlos Zambrano? Just another reason why Sox GM Kenny Williams is becoming a recluse when it comes to dealing with the media.
like gregor says in the headline, why not add beckham in, too.
Alex Rios and Carlos Quentin both homered early in Saturday’s game. Just another reason the Sox are looking forward to 2010.
Quentin hasn’t been close to 100 percent this season, and here’s what Kenny had to say about the duo the other day:
"Alex is a .280 career hitter. He hasn’t shown that in Chicago. But once he gets his feet underneath him in spring training and get some things cleaned up, he’ll certainly come back to form and will be a force for us, and so will Carlos as soon as he gets out of his mechanical thing where he’s sitting.
"You’ll know when Carlos is back when Carlos is driving the ball to right-center (field) again and that means he’s not pulling off balls and spinning as he has been."
carlos has been fucked up mechanically basically all season. i assume the injuries must be playing a big role in that because, otherwise, i’m not sure why something he’s been doing since may is still the issue.

sounds dangerous for KW.
he’s already said he’s not interested in free agents. except those he’d have to give up a draft pick for. dumbass boxed himself in. sox better start winning or he’ll have to spend that 50 cents on players instead.

to be fair to Freddy
when the comback started they found every eye of a needle in the filed, with weakly hit balls, I thought they were very lucky, Detroit that is, although once we turned it over to the arse end of our bullpen it rapidly spiralled out of control. So I think the criticism of Ozzie leaving him in too long is unjustified, I mean look what happened after he got pulled.

A lot of people can say things about Ramirez, but I would pick him as the third or fourth best shortstop in the AL, maybe in baseball"--Oz
