1st choice - Thome

2nd choice – Blalock

I’ve always liked Blalock, and a 1 year deal with incentives may result in him being very productive.

Kind of a crap stat... His '09 specialty was giving up other people's runs.
How about “disappointing” and “frustrating” as two examples, especially when focusing in on Linebrink’s 8.49 ERA over the second half of the campaign? Considering there was no injury hampering Linebrink’s efforts, and he carried a 1.93 ERA into the All-Star break, “baffling” comes to mind.

You're confusing him with Octavio Dotel

Linebrink allowed only 4 of 12 inherited runners to score. Dotel allowed 13 of 25.

He was genuinely good in the first half when he didn’t pitch on back-to-back days.

IIRC

He was getting tagged all year long. The only difference was the inherited runners in the first half as opposed to his own runners in the 2nd. Nice job using your eyes hsa.

You remember incorrectly

He only had four inherited runners to deal with in the first half, and only one of them scored.

I guess the “power of the eye” fails to include reading comprehension.

This team sure seems to be full of, “we need them to bounce back and have good year” players.
