Who ya got?
As I sit here today, picking up the pieces, remembering the good times with our pal the Gentleman Masher, it became quite obvious that this will not be the end of this story. Sometime, could be May, could be June, maybe even late April, Kenny Williams is going to wake up and realize, that yes, he is the general manager of an American League baseball team. It will be at that point he will begin to understand that putting together arguably the best pitching staff in baseball only to see Mark Kotsay play on a regular basis was a very poor decision. Possibly the worst decision of his career. And this is the same guy who traded Nick Swisher for Jeff Marquez & a pair of excellent goggles, so that's saying something.
At this time, he's going to start looking for a DH replacement. So the question is, who leaves? Who comes in? When does it go down?
Prize as always.. bragging rights.
I'll start with June 1st, Dayan Viciedo, random non-Hudson pitcher in a deal for Dan Uggla. I know.. he's right handed, but he has reverse splits, so he'd be fine, not that we can be picky at this point anyways. Getting expensive for the Marlins, if they are out of it at all, he will be moved. Could do some damage at the cell, and Ozzie can have a guy who can technically play the field.

Fair enough, we could always add cash
Brent Morel / Pitcher instead if you want though.

I'd trade a ton for Adrian Gonzalez or Prince Fielder.
including the whole rotating dh, linebrink and daniel cabrera.

What else do you think we could offload for one of them?
Juan Pierre’s rash? Bobby Jenks’ past? That funny smell that trails Erik Threets?

I'm guessing the Sox trade Torres and Cole Armstrong for Jody Gerut
Honestly I think the Sox will be pretty constrained if the need to deal for a DH:
1) Whomever they bring in has to at least have a rep for being able to play the field, either the 3 OF positions or 3B/SS/2B.
2) The contract has to be cheap. Maybe something like $2M for half a season.
3) The Sox have very, very few prospects to deal: Hudson, Flowers, Morel, Mitchell when eligible. Morel is clearly trade bait as Teahen has been tabbed as the 3B of the future(!) but Morel won’t bring much back on his own.
So, it will be tough to find someone…best case would be someone like Felipe Lopez but he might not have enough glove for Guillen. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sox target someone like Kotsay to replace Kotsay when he is hurt/ineffective. Gerut was one guy that came to mind.
I have no faith
In the White Sox brain trust to do the right thing. I see them doing something stupid like trading away Jordan Danks and Daniel Hudson for someone they could’ve had for peanuts in the offseason
Mike Lowell.
The Red Sox want to dump him and we wouldn’t have to give up much for him. He can DH and occasionally play first or third.

How much time has that guy spent on the DL

I'm guessing they just bring up Viciedo or Flowers and give them a shot
This year is looking like a patch year to give Ozzie’s crap philosophy of playing NL ball a shot while seasoning the kids down on the farm. Perhaps Pierre is just a patch to hold for Mitchell, Konerko might become a DH like Thomas before him if Viciedo learns 1B and the younger Danks could come up after the hit man I hired takes out Rios.

How about this guy?

nope, no chance for a 50-game suspension there.
These events have me frightened and on the verge of evacuating my bowels.
tyler flowers
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
