In my humble opinion, adding Adrian Beltre would be the best single move the Sox could make this offseason. By signing Beltre, you give yourself a great two-way infield. Offensive versatility, good power and exceptional defense. An infield of Beckham, Ramirez and Beltre would mask a potential rookie 1B. It is also no secret that finding a first baseman is not nearly as difficult as finding a 3B of Beltre's abilities. If we are to believe the Sox offered 16 million per to V-Mart, then it is not hard to see Beltre and AJ fitting into that number. With the same outfield and the acquisition of a lefty DH, say Matsui or Brad Hawpe, a Sox team with Beltre at third could be very competitive. A potential lineup: Pierre LF, Beckham 2B, Alex Rios CF, Adrian Beltre 3B, AJ C, Alexei Ramirez SS, Matsui/Hawpe DH, Carlos Quentin RF, Dayan Viciedo/? 1B
Just a thought that has been in my head, was interested in feedback
