Reporter: I was wondering if at any point in my lifetime the Cubs weren't going to be run by a guy who didn't immediately remind me of failure, confusion, or imminent death

When I was a kid, I didn't want to be a doctor or a fireman. I wanted to be Super Mario. It's the most literal pipe dream I've ever had.
Kenny's just shinin' his balls this offseason.
Love it.

A Good Deal for All!
I believe that Scott Linebrink was poised to have a pretty good season in 2011; he was looking so much better the last couple of months of the season. I think that Atlanta will be pleased with what they get, and for less money that we were paying him (thanks to sending cash to Atlanta). Still, he was an albatross to the Sox and needed to be gone. Ozzie had long ago lost confidence in him and only used him in losing efforts. Liney was an earnest, hard working guy who always tried his best. I liked him as a person but hated how disastrous he could be for two years whenever he came into a game. Trading Linebrink is definitely a win-win.

I'm surprised the Sox got more than a bag of balls in return
Wren is obviously hoping the NL will do Linebrink some good.
I haven't been this happy since Mikey Mac left town
