Baseball Daily Digest Preview

Certainly nothing new for the great Sox fanatics here, but I hope you enjoy it. I know I don't post much here, but I read. :>

Editor's intro: By now “Yes we can!” is so played out that even using it to introduce the President’s favorite baseball team is lame. It’s difficult to keep a White Sox intro short, though. There’s the obligatory mention of Ozzie Guillen’s Twitter, the South Side, and, for the nostalgic, throw in a Black Sox reference, too. Were the changes made in Chicago something fans can believe in (sorry!)? We’ll let BDD’s Rob McQuown cover that. Read on for a quick look back at last year, the outlook for 2010, position breakdowns and more on this year’s Chicago White Sox.

I like this:

The team has wisely left a spot open at the major league level (this vacancy could be called "Mark Kotsay" for short), so that when Tyler Flowers has finished subduing the minor leagues, he won’t be blocked.

Yeah that was funny

Though honestly in watching Jones this spring it really does appear he is ready to play…..If Flowers does hit in AAA (and I expect him to) I’m more fearful that he’d be traded vs moving to 1B. He seems to have moved into the category of legit catcher. Too valuable to move to 1b.

Yeah

I said probably a month ago on here.. I really believe KW / Ozzie must have seen something that made them believe Jones is going to be able to hit again. As much as I wanted Thome, I decided to stick with the theory they knew more then I do and not get worked up about it. So far, so good.

I found it more funny then true. If Flowers comes up to DH, it could mean he was just a monster in AAA, but it’s probably just that our DH situation was a disaster, which would be a shame.

I think we’re safe on the trade front, (or maybe that’s just hope, anything can happen with KW), but if he can stick at catcher, I don’t see us moving him.
