Any other marooned members?

Sadly,  I was never in consideration to attend the get together against the Marlins May 21 since I was shipped to D.C. at the end of 2008 and the work schedule won't allow a trip home then.  However, in a rare occurence, the White Sox will actually be playing the NL East for interleague games and will be at Nationals Park here in the district June 18-20.  Anybody similarly stranded or jonesing for a trip to the nation's capital on those dates?  I'd love to meet some of the fans on this site.

can we turn this into the official out of town meetup post?

Hopefully this year I can get to a number of Sox games around my ’hood here on the East Coast.

I have tix for the the Sox/Yanks series on 4/31 and I hope to get down to at least one of the Nats’ or O’s games this year.

I had a friend who was working on Capital Hill in DC last year who said the Nats’ park was a real urban planning debacle, so I’m curious. Will def try and make it down for one of those games.

I always end up seeing one of those

despite how much it irritates me to watch a shitty NL team, so probably

The Nats park itself is actually pretty nice

It’s just in the middle of shitsville. Of course, plenty of people say the same about the Cell. I know I will be going to the Sunday June 20 event as a father’s day thing, and I’m pretty sure I will be going to the Friday night game as well.

Yeah, park's not bad. And tickets are usually very easy to come by.

I actually think the neighborhood would be pretty decent if the real estate market hadn’t crashed and all the condo projects around it hadn’t stalled. But at the moment there’s nothing to do around there before or after the game.

I may be in DC for the summer

I’ve been granted a second (phone) interview and if I get the job, I’m definitely going to make it out for all three at the Nats park as well as the series in Baltimore (which, IIRC, is either in late July or early August). If that’s the case I’d be game for this.

I was there last April for 2 sox games.

Without a doubt the worst park in baseball for a visiting fan to watch a game with those fucking cowbells.
