Carlos Quentin Community Projection Results
My suspicions that Carlos Quentin was the only player on the Sox capable of matching the lofty projections of Gordon Beckham were far from incorrect. You guys seemed almost universally optimistic about not only his ability to crush the ball at near-'08 levels, but stay relatively healthy in the process.

Not Universal.
Not even Sea World- like (OK, I forget you guys don’t live in Theme Park World) for the older guys projecting. Hatchetm, DrEL, Sherm and me are less than sanguine about his ability to stay totally healthy. And I think I’m being optimistc projecting just shy of 500 AB.

I like how you elevated guys in their young 40

Hope I die before I get old.
And to the majority of the board, guys in their 40’s are their Dads. Guys like us are dead.

Hatchetm,
YOU better be fucking wrong.
larry. A kind word for everyone.
What's odd
There isn’t one person who thinks that he could duplicate 2009. Even those that have him missing a fair amount of time are projecting normal rate stats.

There aren't any AB totals in the 300's
And there are just three below-league-average OBPs. Two are attached to the “Crippled Q” lines, and the other is paired with a .517 SLG.

i don’t see much reason to expect a terrible OBP. he’s, what, a .350 lifetime in the majors, well over .400 in the minors? he’s not likely to repeat a .221 babip.
His whole major league career
has tended to lean towards a certain degree of bad babip luck but last year was kind of ridiculous. I guess I have to accept that he will be just one of those type of guys. Still its fun to speculate on what a season might look like from him with “good” luck in regards to BABIP. It could be fantastic.

Cheat's projection is damn close to mine.
If I were Cheat, I’d start sharpening some knives. I’ve been on this site too long. Pretty soon I’ll be longingly eyeing bicycles in the store windows.

If you change the first 6 letters in your last name to consonants, I'll start to worry.

I'm thinking of changing it to "Novak".
Not a stretch.
