SSS Official 'Lost' finale discussion

There have been many threads discussing 'The Wire', so lets talk about one of my other favorite tv shows, 'Lost'. All in all, I enjoyed most of the series and I will probably just stick to my original theories regarding the show. I believe the last season was a poor attempt to shift our attention from all the mystery and wonder of the island, to the remaining characters left on the show.

I just want to know why they WASTED our time with Egyptian statues, old temples, and the ever mysterious Walt and Aaron? Where the hell did Walt go anyways? He wasn't at the temple... Why did the others kidnap children? Where did they go?

How did Smokey take over Jacobs brother's body? How did the 815ers walk into the cave and nothing happens to them? Very POOR storytelling IMO. They could have easily tied in some of these side plots that were supposedly very important at the time.

How did Jacob get off the island?

How and why did the 815ers start time traveling? This was supposed to be answered. What was the purpose of setting off a hydrogen bomb? I will still stick my version of the ending, Walt appears and slaughters SLocke, you know, with his special telepathy powers... Michale and Walt live happily ever after.

I heard a good quote, not sure who said it but it went along the lines of "The ending was emotionally satisfying, but not intellectually satisfying. To me the mythology of Lost was a critical element to the appeal of the show, and in the end anyone needing a sense of intellectual closure was left high and dry. Turns out the series was an elaborate soap opera in which the compelling mysteries were just a prop".

WTGTD is VERY disappointed with the way 'Lost' was wrapped up. Discuss.
