After Teahen’s DL stint is up, he no longer is our everyday 3rd baseman.

I'm just hoping Nix has some untapped potential,

that is unleashed over the next 2 weeks. The potential to hit better than .250 and play just average defense. I’m not asking for much.

It may not be much

But it’s still more than you’re going to get unfortunately.

I was frustrated from November through April, but that has long past. I’m at the “welp.. that’s a shame,” stage when I watch this team play.

about Littlebridge in CF.

Honestly.. I'd rather have Bridge

On the roster than Vizquel or Kotsay. Call me stupid if you want, but personally I’d rather watch a young guy fail than an old guy, and I don’t think he’ll be that bad as a utility guy this time around.

That's how I feel..

And with a team going no where, I’d rather see the kid in the minor leagues get a shot over some over the hill guy just hanging on. If we were doing better, I’m sure I’d rather have the veteran.

Speed may not slump, but Legends do...

Aaron Rowand saw eight pitches Monday — all strikes — and appeared overmatched as he went down swinging twice.

There was no shame in walking back to the dugout against Colorado’s Ubaldo Jimenez. But Rowand already blazed that trail against plenty of pitchers who aren’t 10-1 with an 0.78 ERA.

And the crowd at AT&T Park didn’t boo the other eight hitters in the Giants lineup.

Even for a streaky hitter like Rowand, his current slump is a doozy. He has a .132 average and .165 on-base percentage in 19 games since May 9. His average has fallen from .324 to .227. He has 22 strikeouts and just three walks in 80 plate appearances during that stretch.

Manager Bruce Bochy could play Andres Torres in center field and open up right field for John Bowker or Nate Schierholtz. That’s what he did Saturday when Rowand got a routine rest.

is this the sad state of our minor leagues? That Brent Lillibridge is the guy that gets called up. Wow….. Jayson Nix at 3rd…. guess he can’t be worse than Mark Teahen. Infield of Konerko, Beckham, Nix and Ramirez, outfield of Pierre, outfield of Pierre, Rios, Quentin, DH Jones, catcher Piersynski. Not exactly the ’27 Yankees. Good luck winning with that lineup. And how bad is it when your bench is Kotsay, Vizquel, Lillibridge and Castro. What an awful roster. But hey who knows we might get lucky.
