my theory
Pierre has to, at some point this year, start hitting. He is a lifetime ~.300 hitter and odds are that he will start to creep up to that number from here on out. They don’t have a replacement for him at the top of the order, unless you want to put Rios there. So he might as well keep him at the top and reap the rewards for sticking with him. Eventually he’ll get an XBH too, right?

It’s too stupid to merit a response. Gordon Beckham was great last year, and is slumping because he is, after all, 24 years old.

Way I see it, Ozzie would have to do everything short of clubbing a baby seal in front of me, for me to support his firing…
But I feel now more than ever, that some of his unique lineups are more driven by his ego and Cartman-esque “respect my authority!” mentality than the desire to win ballgames.
And that’s frustrating as hell, especially for those of us who have always been more than willing to defend his craziness.
