curious lineup, with Rios the DH and Viciedo at 3B
with mark starting, I would have went with a defensive minded lineup of Q dh, Jones in right, Rios in CF and Vizquel at 3B, but whatevs.
Viciedo did well last night at the plate, let’s hope he manages to not shit all over himself at 3B for MB.

I do think it’s smart to get him ABs against lefties and build some confidence. Back in the mid 90s I recall the Indians using Thome, Giles, and some others in that capacity. I don’t think Thome was a full time player until he had parts of 4 or 5 MLB seasons under his belt. Manny Ramirez dominated lefties and was so-so against righties in his first couple years. Tank can hit. That much seems clear.

i never understand the old timers talking about being hit by pitches so often.
moose was hit more than 6 times in a season once, when he was hit 8 times in 1961. i understand brushbacks were probably more prevalent/effective as they weren’t wearing helmets until whatever year.
i know some stuff must have been written about hit by pitch frequency but i’m not going to look it up right now.
so ok. here’s my conclusion though. it seems like old timers exaggerate how often they have been hit by pitches when there is probably evidence to the contrary. anyone agree? know of any info on the subject?

SSS has been able to get a lot of value out of him, but I imagine other sites look at his age and the some of the garbage he’s typing and think that he could be one terrible mistyped post from hanging them up.

DJ claimed Farmio's lips were moving to mouth an opinion that he wasn't sharing on air. Farmer said he hadn't said anything, what is he talking about? DJ is relentless, keeps telling him he saw him, yada yada. He's like a child how he's so provoking...
…spending minutes dwelling on Farmer moving his lips, like it’s a bfd anyway.
Finally, DJ called him Pinocchio because someone must be pulling the strings to move his lips.
And then in a terrible high voice screeches, “I’m a real boy!”
Farmer was obviously annoyed with him and just said, “He’s really lost it, folks.” Or something to that effect.
