This Gamethread Will Not Be Hungry Again in a Half-Hour

It’s dinnertime for me!

I see it's "no criminal record" night at the ballpark -- billyok before a game against the A's
I have witnessed the 2005 World Series championship, Mark Buehrle's perfect game, and the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship in my lifetime.

Sweepers Sweepers

man your brooms. Give the M’s a clean sweep down both fore and aft. Sweep down all decks, ladder wells and passage ways. Dump all garbage in dumpsters provided. Sweepers

Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber.

The good thing about the roster construction

Is it’s hard to tell the sweep lineup from the every day one.

Much better title btw.

sorry for all the copy & pasting, but yeah...

The Padres and White Sox have asked the Rockies about Brad Hawpe, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post (all Twitter links). Chicago’s interest hinges on the pursuit of Adam Dunn and the Padres’ interest may have softened, now that they have acquired Miguel Tejada.

Hawpe, who hit his seventh homer this afternoon, began the day with a .259/.337/.439 line. The 31-year-old has about $2.8MM remaining on his contract this year and will earn $10MM in 2011 unless his team buys him out for $500K, as expected.

seattle has a large japanese population, probably one of the largest, if not the largest in the US

we had great seats one section down from the 1st base dugout 4th row for a game there last month. Probably 90% of the folks around us were japanese fans there to see ichiro.

not sure if that overweighs the factor of playing on a shit team, but he is the attraction, he can’t mind that.

If you're interested in Ichiro this is an interesting interview

http://www.mynorthwest.com/?nid=374&sid=264859

It seems to me that Ichiro is utterly fascinated by the idea of getting fat.

I’d love to see him gain 60 pounds after he retires.

(oh- and I think somewhere in there he addresses the pond-fish thing. and the losing.)
