is it possible that ramos value is increased if he was in another team's farm system?
This is like having Marshall Faulk on your fantasy football team in 2000 and screwing up the rest of your draft to finish 7th.

well there is that mauer guy and his 184 million, so yea. also from what I've learned the Twins had an embarrassment of riches for catchers in their system.
what i mean is that the seamheads at fangraphs and twins fans are idiots for ignoring relative value

What do you mean?
If two teams agree to any trade, doesn’t that imply that both teams believe the players they are receiving have a greater relative value than they players they are sending.
Obviously Ramos was worth less to the Twins than to a team without a good catcher. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to get close to his fair market value in return.
the twins are also in a pennant race which increased the value of capps

i mean, the twins weren't likely to get fair market for him at this point of the season
perhaps they could get more in the offseason, but obviously management felt that improvement in the bullpen in the short term > whatever could be had for ramos in the offseason
