Retherford returns after struggling in Triple-A Charlotte and having a dustup with Knights manager Chris Chambliss.
“It was just a little run-in with the manager. I think we’ve solved that,” Retherford said. “He put down a sign, it caught me off guard, and I was frustrated and reached a boiling point. It was very unlike me.”

5th round pick Andy Wilkins signs
$195k bonus. Matthew Grimes (4th round) and Josef Terry (8th round) are the only remaining unsigned top 10 round picks.
I would guess both would be difficult, but possible.
Both stand something to gain potentially by going to college next year, as Grimes is very projectable and has a Georgia Tech commit, while Terry had an injury plagued year at his JC.

how much difference is there between the talent level in kanny vs. great falls?
silverio looking like a badass there. after about 75ABs in both, he’s got another .550 in OPS.

not sure how to answer that. it's a minor league level.
keep in mind, too, that the pioneer league is a hitter’s league so that would inflate the numbers, too.
i'm just curious how the levels compare.

the bigger issue is his age.
we know it was wrong. to what degree (months? year(s)?) we don’t know, as they haven’t changed his “official” birthday in his bio. if he’s 19 or even 20, the performance difference isn’t terribly important. older than that, it’s a huge problem.
Would their use of him give you any idea of his age?
I mean, if he was much older would they have just cut ties with him completely or forced him to move up a couple levels? Or with our weak ass system, can you just assume they’d keep anybody that has a pulse?

Tyler Flowers, C, White Sox (Triple-A Charlotte): 0-for-3, 3 K, SB. Since hitting .323/.432/.613 in April, top catching prospect in the system has hit .182 (33-for-181) with 71 strikeouts. Has to hit, because the defense is just plain bad.
Chris Sale, LHP, White Sox (High-A Winston Salem): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. The second-highest pick (13th overall) to have signed; being used sparingly, but has fired three hitless innings so far as a pro.

Lillibridge is obviously going to keep up this pace forever, thus salvaging that deal. Upside: 1.100 OPS and 44 throwing errors in the final few months.

We have had to lower our standards significantly.
I mean, the Great Georgia Hope just his his 3rd dinger of the year yesterday. We aren’t pushing them to the pros like Teh Twinn, unless they are on other teams. (Chris Young is gonna star in the Home Run Derby…)
