but yah the backup catchers (and in a lot of cases- the starters) have been terrible for the sox. thats why i was happy they brought AJ back…yes i know he had a horrible year but he’s been much better than the alternatives.

castro's performance is probably why we were above MLB average with
a 0.315 wOBA at the catcher position (and 5th in the AL), i previously thought our ranking was much lower
