Around SBN: What If This Is It For The Celtics? End Of An Era Looming

Rather than returning to the Chicago White Sox, Freddy Garcia reportedly wishes to play for the New York Yankees this upcoming season.

"My preference is to be with the New York Yankees, and it's not unreasonable to have that in mind, because I've demonstrated that I can be useful," Garcia said, according to the Venezuelan paper, Meridiano. "A team like New York would be ideal for my age, [as would ] playing in a successful, media-heavy, demanding division. Without doubt it would be an inspiration."

And for the children’s sake, send him home. Now.

Sounds like the Sox aren't willing to give Freddy as much as he wants
“I would love to stay in Chicago because I like the city and I have friends here, but I don’t think I’m going to come back,” Garcia said. “In any case, I appreciate them for trusting me last year; however, a team like New York would be ideal, and would match up with this stage of my career.”

Sox re-up with Alexei

The White Sox have signed a contract extension with shortstop Alexei Ramirez, reports Jorge Ebro of the Nuevo Herald. The deal pays Ramirez $32.5MM over four years, and there is also a $10MM team option for a fifth year.

Somewhat unrelated but..

Anyone watching Hot Stove on MLB Network? Todd Ziele is on. He clearly did his homework and knows what he’s talking about. Hopefully this isn’t a one day thing and he becomes a regular.

I don't understand....

Freddy said: “A team like New York would be ideal for my age, [as would ] playing in a successful, media-heavy, demanding division. Without doubt it would be an inspiration.”

Ignoring the word “successful” in Freddy’s quote…he played for the Mets, a “media-heavy, demanding division”. Well, it appears he couldn’t find the “inspiration” he is talking about. He didn’t have enough inspiration to start a single game for the Mets before his release….hmmmm…maybe it was the Mets who didn’t have the “inspiration”…. Maybe he is probably giving this speech coz is getting desperate to sign a contract somewhere

Guess what....I am elliptical!!!

With Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia going from the ’09 #WhiteSox to the 2011 #Yankees, could Jimmy Gobble be next?
