This question has been bouncing around in my head the past couple of days and I see both sides and I was curious to see what anyone else thought about this: Which is a more dominant pitching performance? A 27 strike out perfect game or a 27 pitch perfect game? On one hand you have a pitcher totally preventing the opposing team the opportunity to put the bat on the ball and on the other you have a pitcher so crafty he fools every batter into thinking he had a pitch to hit yet couldn’t. I know there is a newer pitching stat that rates the dominance of the pitching performance. I don’t remember what it exactly is called. Nor do I fully understand how it determines dominance or if there are imperfections in the stat such as over-weighting one aspect and under-valuing others (i.e. weighing strikeouts higher than other outs). So I am throwing this question out to my fellow SSS-ers to see what insight you all can bring to this rather silly hypothetical question.
