Top Secret Pick 7 Ticket Plan

pick 7 plan

It looks like the Sox don't have this package set up with a link yet, but they handed out this little piece of literature along with similar pages for the pick 14, split ticket and other packages you could purchase for 2012. I haven't purchased one myself so I can only assume you can get this from the phone number listed there. Maybe it's not available yet, who knows, but it exists.

Humorously Enough

I got a call from a different ticket rep this afternoon, again asking about my plans for tickets in 2012. I ended up asking if they were going to have anything smaller than the 14 game plan, and she replied that the 7 game plan was in the works and would prob be going on sale next week.

sox sign new assistant to kenny

News: The White Sox have named Marco Paddy as Special Assistant to the General Manager

Paddy spent 14 seasons with the Atlanta Braves, serving as an area scout (1993-2002), assistant director of player development (2002-03) and director of Latin America operations (2004-06).

perhaps not, they are both predominantly catholic people.

aaaaaand that’s as far as this discussion should probably go.

Please tell me this is a whosh trap.

"Many people need desperately to receive this message: 'I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.'"

by U-God on Nov 30, 2011 2:53 PM CST up reply actions

i'm glad the whosh was put to rest.

because larry pretty much whosh trapped me, I think. At least on second read he appeared to have.

by Shoeless In SC on Nov 30, 2011 4:17 PM CST up reply actions

paddy is his surname

"paddy" as you used it is a nickname for padraig/patrick. it shouldn’t be a surprise that the two names aren’t related.

also, i would bet that his first name is really "marcos" which, like marco(s) scutaro, he shortened. marcos is obviously of spanish/portugese origin.

by larry on Nov 30, 2011 4:27 PM CST up reply actions

ahhh. okay.

thanks for this illuminating side discussion. and in reference to my above comment on the whosh trap, on second read of your comment I thought you were making an Asian joke. it turns out that you were serious.

by Shoeless In SC on Nov 30, 2011 4:42 PM CST up reply actions

Spanish

Scutaro uses the Italian version of Marcos which has no “s”. Scutaro is from Italian heritage. Scutaro could have played for Italy in the 2006 World Baseball Classic but he decided to play for his native Venezuela.

I saw this somewhere else today too.

So is Hahn still in the running for a job elsewhere, or do we get to keep him around another year?

"Special assistant to the general manager" is not the same as "assistant general manager"

It’s a catch-all title. Sometimes people actually serve roles, and other times they’re just important/famous players a team wants to officially keep in the fold.

by Jim Margalus on Nov 30, 2011 3:03 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, I recognized that much,

But I hadn’t heard anything new about Hahn lately and this seemed as opportune a moment as any to bring it up.

But is he walking around the office calling himself “Assistant General Manager”?

5 years running Toronto's Latin American Operations

Would want to know more about how Toronto’s been in the international market, but this Paddy guy looks legit.

Maybe now that everyone’s forced to be cheap the Sox are taking this seriously again.

not long enough to evaluate.

his first signings should only be reaching the upper minors/majors now. perhaps you’ve heard of henderson alvarez. i’m sure you haven’t heard of balbino fuenmayor. kenny rodriguez was a bust.

by larry on Nov 30, 2011 3:59 PM CST up reply actions

With the current halo around Anthopoulos, I see Toronto and instantly get warm thoughts,

But I wasn’t sure how upbeat to be about this.

Thanks. Sounds like I’ll be sticking with with cautious optimism that they’re moving at least incrementally in a positive direction.

If there was anything re: typing that sounded promising for me,

“autocorrect” would be it. However, I have had 4 others of those in my life and they didn’t end up working out, either.
