Comiskey Park during the 1959 World Series. Bill Veeck would apply the first coat of white paint during the off-season. The buildings to the east of the park were cleared, and replaced by the Dan Ryan Expressway.

This is awesome!
What a beautiful park!
I also love the buildings that were eventually cleared for the Dan Ryan, especially that field house.
It’s taken years of practice to be such an asshole.

Outstanding.
Was the fieldhouse related to the Sox?
Our manager wears 13, we were supposedly cursed, and we wear black. Let's play.

The upper deck at old comiskey was about club level at the cell.
Upper deck seats in the infield were good seats.

This place sure went coocoo bananas. ~Nordhagen
Our tickets have been 11 rows off of 3rdbase dugout since the early 80's.
Ozzie was always peeking his head over the dugout, in retrospect looking for tail, but he would always make funny faces at my sister and me. We always like Ozzie because of that but my father hated him because he refused to take walks.

People on the roof!
What a beautiful shot.

TWSS.
He was the last vestige of a time when men named Rube and Mordecai and Smokey Joe and Grover strode as giants upon the land, their won-loss records both gleaming and gory, good and bad entangled.
