Professional Sports "Bubble"?

KenWo's 1990s recap reminded me of the 1994 strike and brought back the painful (and bitter) memories of dealing with what seemed to be a bunch of overpaid people who had lost touch with reality.

With the potential NFL strike looming, it brings back a question that I'd like to throw out to the SSS community.

Are we witnessing a Professional Sports "Bubble" wherein player and owner revenues are heading to some peak that will inevitably "burst"? Or are we as a society able (and willing) to sustain unlimited revenue growth so that professional athletes and sports team owners will continue to get richer in the foreseeable future?
