The team to beat is...

I asked this several weeks ago. Now that we have reached February and there is much more certainty about this team and those in our division, I ask again (after the jump)...

Star-divide

Have the moves of Kenny Williams this offseason made the White Sox the team to beat in the AL Central? The Twins did very little but will nonetheless add two very good pieces to their October roster (Joe Nathan and Justin "I'm Dizzy" Morneau). The Tigers now have some Miggy-related turbulence, but he's not expected to miss any significant amount of time. The Royals and Indians are the Royals and Indians.

Clearly, its Detroit.

I hope Kotsay gets hit by a dump truck and slips into a coma where he is stuck forever in Baseball purgatory having to bat against a three-headed, six-armed Lefty Hydra consisting of Billy Wagner, Damaso Marte, and Randy Johnson. - Shoeless In SC

TEAM TO BEAT

WE WILL HAVE AN AWESOME BATTING ORDER, ON PAPER OUR PITCHING STAFF SHOULD DOMINATE, BUT WE HAVE TO BEAT THE TWINS.. IN HEAD TO HEAD GAMES!!!

I am flattered.

Since I own no copyright and can cloak the bastard whenever I want I am positively Zen-like in my calm.

He was the last vestige of a time when men named Rube and Mordecai and Smokey Joe and Grover strode as giants upon the land, their won-loss records both gleaming and gory, good and bad entangled.

Besides all the yelling

I do agree the Sox need to do better H2H vs the twinkies.

The team to beat this year is the Sox

Hopefully we’ll have our guys healthy enough the majority of the year this time to make a serious run into and through the playoffs.

I think the White Sox can win 100 games this year to beat out Detroit by 5 games.

Wow, I love the optimism

But I gotta keep ‘em at 90ish. The championship team didn’t win 100

If we get off to a hot start, stay healthy, and manage a winning head-to-head against the Twins and Tigers

I think 100 is possible. I personally think we’ll be in the mid 90s but we have an outside shot at 100.

Our manager wears 13, we were supposedly cursed, and we wear black. Let's play.

I'd say yes

Of course we really do not know till the season starts. I think our start is going to be very important, due to the age of our squad. Injuries can kill us or put us down for a time, but Herm is the best in the business.

The team to beat is the defending champions of the AL Central.

Any discussion of us being the team to beat or about us winning 100 games seems a bit extreme considering we haven’t even played a spring training game yet. The Twins are the reigning champions and will be until someone dethrones them. This speculation is ridiculous.
