Hi everybody! My apologies for slacking on the RRRR of late.
This sounds absurd, but my new job is actually requiring me to work during the day, as opposed to fap around on a baseball blog. I know; I don't like it one bit either!
This week's rumpus topic is things washed up.
Please interpret this phrase however you'd like, though I'll kick it off in the literal sense.
In the four years since I started surfing and calling the Olympic Peninsula my second home, I've run into some nifty objects and creatures left behind from the high tide. The latest was this past weekend when I camped in the rain forest under rare clear skies in below-freezing temps, and came across this fantastic buoy, in surprisingly good condition.
Equally as cool to discover, was the salmon shark I found about a year and a half ago. The shark was in near-perfect condition, so the cause of death was unclear. I poked and prodded at this fascinating fellow, who resembled a Great White a little more than my paranoid-of-sea-creatures sensibilities cared for...
Anyone have a story or pic of something fabulous found on the shores of a beach?
