Spring Training Game Thread, White Sox @ Reds

Hooray! Stealing this idea from my friend who posted yesterday's game thread. Anyways, if anybody cares, today's starters are Edwin Jackson and Homer Bailey. So far this Spring, the Sox are 0-2, coming off a 3-1 loss to the Brewers yesterday. Mark Buehrle threw two perfect innings in his first start. Only 5 hits for the Sox, De Aza with the lone run with an RBI ground-out. Phil Humber took the loss, allowing one run and 4 hits in 2 innings. Chris Sale made his first appearance of the Spring with 2 earned runs in one inning. Jesse Crain, Sergio Santos, and Matt Thornton threw 1 scoreless inning.

Today against the Reds, A.J. Pierzynski will bat DH with Tyler Flowers behind the plate. I don't know much about Flowers, but if he is going to be a future catcher for the White Sox, it's a good time for him to get going in his short career at age 25. Let's go Sox!

Gameday

Probably a good thing. It’s a meaningless game, but watch three bases loaded strikeouts would have been hellish

I hope Kotsay gets hit by a dump truck and slips into a coma where he is stuck forever in Baseball purgatory having to bat against a three-headed, six-armed Lefty Hydra consisting of Billy Wagner, Damaso Marte, and Randy Johnson. - Shoeless In SC

Re: Spring gamethreads

Tomorrow’s game is on a webcast, so I’ll make sure there’s a gamethread ready to go. And we’ll do the same for future webcasts/broadcasts.

When there’s no way to see it, I think we can keep it contained to the Sox post du jour.

THIS NEW ARRANGEMENT SHOULD BE POOTY GOO

Weak sauce.

There is always GameDay. Think Sutherland in “Animal House”, Jim: “I’m not joking. This is MY JOB!”
