White Sox Outsider 2011 is on sale
I repeat...
White Sox Outsider 2011 is on sale!
I've published my annual White Sox reference book, and here are the details:
- Buy the book here.
- Coupon code - SPRINGREAD - for 20 percent off. That's like getting the basic shipping for free!
- Previous editions: 2010 and 2009.
The centerpiece of White Sox Outsider 2011 is "Ken After Ten," a retrospective of Kenny Williams' 10 years in the GM seat as framed through his first season on the job. Although he's gotten more polished over the years, the elements of his approach have remained surprisingly similar. He even used the "50 cents" line during his first day at work!
What else is new to White Sox Outsider 2011?
*Nearly 100 percent of the writing! We've discussed and I've written about the events of the season in great detail here and on Sox Machine, but White Sox Outsider 2011 is written with the benefit of hindsight, and with the ability to fit events into a larger context. Bobby Jenks' eulogy is in the book, but just about everything else is brand new.
*Cartoons by Carl Skanberg! Not only did our friend Carl design the front cover, but he also added six awesome cartoons for each of the sections. I actually said "Boom!" when I saw his idea for the White Sox Eulogies section front.
*A foreword by ESPN SBNation's own Rob Neyer!
New to White Sox Outsider or still need convincing? Keep reading.

Purchase
Here's where to buy the book. Buy one. Buy 10. Tell your family and friends to buy some.
Appeal
Believe you me, I find it quite awkward to essentially ask for your money, so I try my damndest to provide something of enduring value to make it worth your investment and time. It's really the only book of its kind for Sox fans, and the people who have bought it seem to look forward to it. If you're one of those people, I hope you'll spread the word.
Thanks to Adrienne, Jeff, Larry, Matt, McGuire and Randy for their work in editing it, which they do out of sheer kindness. Thanks to you for considering, and hopefully buying.

No, thanks.
But a tremendous offer.

Coming from an impartial source
The previous book was definitely a good read and worth the money. If you’re a Sox fan, you’ll be happy you bought it.
The fact he’s apparently included a eulogy for Kotsay, so you have kindling for your next bonfire is also a nice bonus.

Not only do I have a copy of White Sox Outsider coming to me
I now have a Lulu account!
Which…uh…might be useful….I suppose.
Yeah, that was sneaky of them
I suspect the coupon code could have been entered without having actually registered…
It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up.
Or maybe that's what the devious bastards want you to think!
Really though, that seems to be true.

I know it is none of my business but I am curious how many of these you sell per year and if you have seen growth year to year.

I believe he said something to the effect that WSO2010 sold as many copies in its first week as WSO2009 did during its entire run.
Although I can’t find the reference right now.

I hope Kotsay gets hit by a dump truck and slips into a coma where he is stuck forever in Baseball purgatory having to bat against a three-headed, six-armed Lefty Hydra consisting of Billy Wagner, Damaso Marte, and Randy Johnson. - Shoeless In SC
And done
Thanks, Jim!
Our manager wears 13, we were supposedly cursed, and we wear black. Let's play.
about time!!!!
Ordered. Looking forward to my Spring Break reading . . .
Season tickets arrived yesterday, and I'm ordering WSO 2011 today!
Baseball season is almost upon us – the signs are plentiful.
For anyone who hasn’t yet read White Sox Outsider – order it – you will not be disappointed.
I didn’t learn about WSO until after the 2009 season – I bought it, and the predictions Jim made about the season were scarily accurate. 2010 edition was even better than 2009. I hope Jim is predicting a playoff run for us in 2011.
Our weekend tickets arrived yesterday
the season is creeping closer and closer… and yet it seems to be taking longer than ever to get here.

This will be a good break from modern Brits I’ve been reading all winter. Time to stop being such a snot.

Really enjoyed last years edition…worth every penny. This year bought two more for gifts. There’s no occasion. You don’t need an occasion. It’s baseball.
From my wallet to yours
I missed 2010 for whatever reason but I vowed I would get 2011 edition. Hell, I suppose I could still order 2010’s..
Ordered!
It tried to make me buy two copies though Jim.

This is the only baseball book...
…that my wife doesn’t mind me ordering every year. She saw the cover when it arrived today and said, “Neat!”
