I hope Kotsay gets hit by a dump truck and slips into a coma where he is stuck forever in Baseball purgatory having to bat against a three-headed, six-armed Lefty Hydra consisting of Billy Wagner, Damaso Marte, and Randy Johnson. - Shoeless In SC
Nice
I am a little surprised he accepted, given the 3-year deals handed out to relievers this winter. But a good move for him if he’s happy in Chicago.
Great move for the Sox.
i wish the sox still had borchard.
uh oh, are the dudes from LL going to come after me now?

Great, now that the contract is out of the way there's no need for Thorny to rack up meaningless numbers like saves.
is exactly the line of reasoning that will be used by no one.

Assuming arb for Danks is around 8-9mil...
2012 Payroll is already north of 100mil. With no corner outfielders and 2 holes in the rotation. Really underscores the need for Morel to be passable, Peavy to bounce back and Viciedo to stick in the outfield.
I wouldn't worry about next year.
This is a good deal for both parties. Thorton gets the security every pitcher neeeds and the Sox lock him up at a fair price in case he has a big year.
pierre will re-sign. quentin will be non-tendered.
