White Sox Minor League Update Jeers the Lights
Prospect Retro from Sickels' 2006 book:
Brent Lillibridge, SS, Pittsburgh Pirates
Bats: R Throws: R HT: 5-11 WT: 185 DOB: September 18, 1983
A fourth round pick from the University of Washington last year, Brent Lillibridge is one of
the more interesting mid-round college draftees in the ’05 class, for me at least. He’s a small
guy, but his game style is a combination of the "scrappy" approach typical of middle
infielders, and the big-man power game more commonly seen among corner players. As a
fielder and baserunner, he is athletic, aggressive, and intelligent. He is a good defensive
shortstop, but can also play the other infield positions, as well as the outfield. With the bat, he
has good pop for his size, but rather than going for contact and using what the pitcher gives
him, he takes a big hack and tries to hit for power. This worked in college with the metal bat,
but as a pro it will be a problem unless he cuts down on his swing. I like Lillibridge, but I’m
not sure what exactly to expect at higher levels. Grade C+.

Whales! Squids! Sharks! They're everywhere! Hello, I am Poseidon! Now, when people told me I was crazy that thinly sliced roast beef would be a delicious fast-food option, I knew it was the greatest idea, and you can thank me later for Arby's.

Recently released by the #Angels, the #WhiteSox have signed 2007 sup. 1st pick RHP Jon Bachanov.

info on him:

but it wasn’t pretty last season:

hey larry...
I was thinking. I know we can find this stuff on our own and all, but it’s awfully time consuming and it’d be cool to come to one place to find it. You think once a month you could do a system roundup and put up the batting/pitching lines of the major guys in our system?
that’d be really awesome.

i can't tell whether this is a serious request or a continuation of the meme.
i do this already. like how i reviewed charlotte last week. i’ll probably do another level or two this week. it’s not all of the levels in a single post because i just don’t like to write that way.
That would be lovely
and if it were to happen, any additional analysis would, of course, be appreciated

Chicago White Sox
Signed: RHP Jon Bachanov, 2B Alden Carrithers
Released: 1B Daryle Ward, 3B Christian Colonel, OF Ryan Hamme
Removed from 40-man: RHP Freddy Dolsi (outrighted to Triple-A)
Placed on 7-day DL: 3B Jon Gilmore, SS Kyle Davis
Reinstated from DL: LHP Matt Wickswat, 1B Daryle Ward, 3B Jon Gilmore, OF Ken Williams Jr.
The Angels’ top pick in the ’07 draft, reliever Jon Bachanov follows the Bobby Jenks career path from Anaheim to Chicago. Though he hasn’t quite reached Jenks-ian proportions, Bachanov does stand in at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds and he does bring the heat.

Outside of a five-run third in which he gave up the cycle, Jake Peavy was great: 7 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 HR. Most importantly, he lasted 100 pitches, throwing 71 for strikes.
Dayan Viciedo knows everybody wants to see him: 3-for-4 with a double, homer, walk and three RBI.
*Tyler Flowers singled and walked over five plate appearances. He also had a passed ball.
*Jordan Danks went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer.
*Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-5 with a double; Eduardo Escobar 1-for-4. Both stole a base.
