U-God wasn't the only one; I had difficulty sleeping on Meet-Up Eve. My mind was racing, trying to comprehend how much guaranteed fun there was to be had. I actually dreamed about the game and the tailgating, really, and woke up the morning of the 21st wondering how I had gotten home. That dream was almost too close to the reality of what happened on that fateful day.

It started off hectically, picking up meat from two locations before finally hitting the road with Grinder in Training. We got there about 20 minutes later than planned, which is not too shabby considering traffic, grill-in-car logistics and assorted non-crises. There were already quite a few people there, which is not at all surprising upon reflection. T-Dogg's friend Julius was an absolute hero behind the grill, churning out tons of delicious meat in many varieties. Beer coolers were aplenty; there was no shortage of liquid refreshment. Rhubarb's Taint Punch was very sweet, completely letting down its given name. The tailgating was great, and not just the ingestibles. Turns out the people that inhabit this corner of the internet are fantastic.

Plenty of good times at the game, too. Rios and Lillibridge both hit no-doubt long balls that landed fairly close to our section. Buehrle pitched very well. The Sox won by a large margin, which was icing on the cake of a tremendous outing. Afterwards, a few of us went to Whirlaway to continue the fun. And fun it was.

Thanks to everyone that came out (even you, blackoutsox!), but especially to Julius for cooking AND driving us hammered folks back up north; to GiT for providing wheels and a grill; to 2nd Half Adjustments for getting people home (I assume so, since he made it home last night before I did... heh); to homesickalien for putting it together and getting tickets and such; moroots for some grillage; to everyone that required a plane ticket to attend, because that's just amazing of you guys; to Maria for putting up with about 10 absolutely bombed SSS'ers; to oahu420 for driving; if there's anyone else that went above and beyond that I left out, apologies. I deserve a Taint Punch.
