Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

I'm not sure how you all feel about Jim Thome in the HOF, but I he's a no brainer. 600 HRs, a crap ton of walks, one of the most feared power hitters in his era, and never linked to PEDs. Also, I don't think I've ever agreed with anything Skip Bayless has said, the guy is such a freaking tool.

Borderline...

I think he’ll have to stick on the ballot for a couple of years before they let him in. He’ll eventually get in, especially if he eventually works his way out of this slump and gets 650. Right now, though? I think he’s on the outside looking in, at least for a couple of years.

I’m more concerned with Buehrle. I think he should be in there, as he’s got that Perfecto and that Nono along with a decade of being a #1 starter and a WS ring. Yes, I agree that his WL isn’t the best, and a 3.82 isn’t spectacular. He also played on some atrocious White Sox teams (don’t try and argue otherwise), and the one season he actually played on a good White Sox team (2005), he had a very good year. 16-8, 3.12, 5.4 WAR. Not transcendent, but very, very good. If he goes on for another decade, and I sincerely hope he does I love the guy, he should get in on that longevity of good alone.

"He also played on some atrocious White Sox teams (don’t try and argue otherwise)"

I’ll argue the plural. Only one of his teams truly stunk.

Whales! Squids! Sharks! They're everywhere! Hello, I am Poseidon! Now, when people told me I was crazy that thinly sliced roast beef would be a delicious fast-food option, I knew it was the greatest idea, and you can thank me later for Arby's.

You don't win it all, the season's a failurre.

If you would channel your inner Steinbrenner, Jim, you’d be happier. And a better leader. FFS.

He won't have to wait for long.

I mean, screw him for that Thornton home run, but dude’s a First Ballot, IMO. One of the best pure power hitters ever, seemingly the nicest guy ever and not a hint of steroids. Dude gets in quick. Buehrle has no shot, lol.

what's there to debate?

slow news day i guess.

So fast he could hit a ball up the middle and it would hit him in the ass sliding into second.

wow.

I’ve heard some ludicrous arguments by sports writers and commentators before, but those were some of the dumbest.

"You go up there, against a dog-ass line up AND pitcher, and you don’t do a fucking thing with it. They whip your silly, sorry, saggy ass AGAIN, and you look like fucking bottom-ass, bitch-ass chumps doing it." - 2HA

This is one of the most ridiculous debates I've ever seen.

Even if t you think Thome doesn’t belong in the HOF, none of these explanations should be that reason why.

Anyone else think that if you gave Skip Bayless a tophat and a monocle

He’d look like the mascot for The New Yorker?

no.

he’d still look like an asshole.

I got halfway through that video and had to stop.

It hurt my brain too much. I heard many Vulcans crying due to the mass assault on logic.

To my knowledge, certain things were not known.

I have a hard time believing Skip actually believes what he says

and isn’t just spewing feces from between his lips because ESPN wants him to be a polarizing figure on its main roundtable talkshow.

Actually yeah,

I think you’re right about that.

yes, i always suspected he's a hired troll.

and supposedly his contract language is on wikileaks, and confirms as much.

I think he is a no doubter, even more of a lock than Big Hurt

Our manager wears 13, we were supposedly cursed, and we wear black. Let's play.

It's a no brainer letting him in.

He is one of the best pure power hitters in history. 600hrs and you would have to wait? He will get in on the first ballot.

Really, dude?

“If all he has is numbers, I don’t think I can put him there”

What was edited out was his following comment

“That Jeter, he has quite a magic act to complement his numbers…definite hall of famer”
