Ballantini: De Aza's future with White Sox in air
As the White Sox got underway in Chicago, taking on the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of their three game set, rumblings at Triple-A Charlotte sent Twitter abuzz. The electricity surrounded Knights outfielder Alejandro De Aza, who was pulled from Charlotte's game hosting the Indianapolis Indians in the top of the first inning. The move immediately led to speculation that De Aza, hitting .322 with the Knights, was to be recalled by the parent club. Charlotte television sports director Mike Solarte tweeted that his sources with the Knights told him De Aza was being called up to the White Sox, but a White Sox official indicated to me right before gametime that De Aza was in fact not being called up on Tuesday. There's nothing that says De Aza won't join the White Sox on Wednesday, but there is no obvious corresponding roster move (a DL visit for a player) to fit along with the callup.
