ahhh Beautiful Camel Back Ranch in sunny Glendale AZ...a couple friends and I are going to meth up in Scottsdale to play some golf and raid the fridge in some 16000 sqft house and I was curious as to which SSSers have ever been out there. Unfortunately our trip falls short of the first game as we leave the evening of the 4th but does anyone know if we can tour the facilities and watch some practice drills or anything of the sort.
Any tips, tricks, or ideas are welcomed. Will my SSS press Badge work?

I hear Walter White over in Albuquerque, New Mexico has some good stuff. Pick up some Los Pollos Hermanos while you’re over there too.
Cheers.

And while you are at it,
Head to Minnesota and get a look at a real champion.
I'm a proud fan of the Minnesota Twins and Dallas Cowboys!

I would like to see Dallas vs the Giants on Thanksgiving, Make it happen NFL!
I'm really hoping it's a "Coach" reference.
Fingers fucking crossed.

Anytime after pitchers and catchers report you should be able to catch some baseball activities on the back fields (particularly in the morning)
Don’t know about tours or anything
This used to be my playground
great, Thanx A Lot
I kind of figured that was the case but wasnt sure. I could see it being kind of open to spectate but at the same time I could see it easily being closed off to the general public as well. The brief research I did was not very helpful. The trip planner was basically pointing me to the closest Hooters and other restaraunts. Ill tell Hawk you said what up, as long as there are no greased tee’s involved

Don’t go till 9:00 am
They won"t open the gates till then.
walk the path and stay right to the back fields.
aces, thanx
dont go til 9 wont be a problem…all our tee times are 9:27, do you know what the latest I should go, or cancel if I cant make it by a certain time?

Spring training
Happens in the morning.
9:00-12:00 AM is when you need to go.Move your tee tine to 12 noon or 1:00,less congestion and it is not to hot.Gate is located past the right field line.everything behind left field is Dodgers. The fields you want are in the top right corner of the picture.Very few fans make it back there but if you find your way back, every C+ prospect on Sickels list will be there for your inspection.Keep your eyes open and you can find a ball laying on the ground that you can bring home and say you caught a foul ball.
thanx Lil Jimmy
the specifics like this really help. do you happen to know if its a 7day a week thing. I ask because I am only going to be able to push back one of the tee times plus were only out there from thursday nite til sunday evening.. nothing happens in the evening?

I would not bet on Sat. or Sun.
Seems like Friday morning for you.Get there before 9:00. They start before that but you can not get in.Spend two hours, bring a bottle of water.Be brave watch ,ask a question from others watching.
They will all know more than you.Very enjoyable

I was in PHX and stayed at the Embassy Suites on Camelback road for 5 days over the holidays. This is about 2-3 miles from Camelback Ranch.
The Suites are a bit pricey (~$160-180) a night, but I can heartily endorse it as a great place to stay if you want to drop a little coin.
Every morning starting at 7am they have free made to order breakfast. You can get pretty much anything you want — any sort of omelet, pancakes, breakfast meats, fresh fruit, coffee, etc.
Every weekday night from 7-9pm they have a free happy hour where you can load up on basic well mixed drinks and beer for absolutely free. They have a gorgeous lounge area filled with exotic plants and palm trees where this all takes place in.
The staff is top notch as well and incredibly friendly and helpful.
I would also recommend the “Roaring Fork” restaurant in Scottsdale. We had our xmas eve dinner there and I was impressed. It’s a modern texmex style steakhouse. The pork stew is excellent and the “big ass” burger they make from last night’s ground sirloin. Top notch.
Climbing camelback mountain is also very cool, although you should at least be in moderate physical shape to attempt it.
Lemme know if you want anymore phx area tips, my sister moved there last year and her partner is a PHX lifer.
checked out roaring fork online
looks good…also kinda looked like a date spot. maybe the other two guys can go there after their couples massage!?!
we’ll probly check it out one of the nights. I think we’re staying in scottsdale/old town area, any recommendations for that part of town and nightly entertainment or are we stuck with trolling the cougars in front of the louis vuitton botiques???

Whenever I am in AZ for spring training
I always go to a restaurant named Don & Charlie’s, they have tons of autographed baseball/sports memorabilia and there are always ball players eating there.
It came from afar and traveled sedately on, a shrug of eternity
