AL Central at Detroit Tigers, Game 1
I'm Twinkie Town member Jessy S. I am currently doing a fan loving exercise that pits the best of the other four AL Central teams against the Detroit Tigers in a five game series. This was born from a AL Central roster put together by SBNation user kjmick24. I'll post the full rosters and the results of all other games at Twinkie Town. The link takes you to a full game one recap.

you’re the one with the moral compass, who calls the cops on our people due to over-reaction, correct? Who in their right mind would start Pavano in Game 1 of such a scenario? This is all kinds of denarded.

So you're just creating the results instead of using any sort of simulation?
I’m missing the point.

Uhhhhhhhhh, guys?
Bless You Boys actually front-paged this exercise in craptility.

uhhhh what? this is absolutely incredibly stupid. for example.
The other run came in the second inning after White Sox slugger Paul Konerko reached second on a ball bobbled by Young. Konerko would later score on a single by Lonnie Chisenhall.
huh?

i guess i have a few questions.
- why is it “needless to say” that both pitchers were a bit off their game. and if they were off, how is it that verlander “pitched eight solid innings for the win.”?
- what exactly is innocent, trouble-wise, about a lead-off home run?
- why are there no days off in this series?
- why are the lineups for game 2 listed if this is game one?
- why aren’t the plate appearances broken down pitch by pitch? i want to know who’s swinging at the first pitch, what each batter’s P/PA is and what the pitcher’s pitch count is.
- how can konerko, a right handed hitter, slice a ball to left field?
- if kelly hit a liner down the first base line in the fourth inning and hosmer fielded it, how did kelly beat the throw? and why would hosmer have to throw it if he just fielded a liner?
- who is matt thorton?
- kelly again. if he lined out to shortstop in the fifth inning why is it a 6-3 putout?
- why does this keep happening to me?

Konerko LF triple and he doesn't know about the one at Jacobs!
You think The series will go the distance?

i would hate to try to predict. i literally have no idea how each and every game may go
let alone the series.

i'm pretty confident it will.
after all, it’s all about maximizing revenues.

everything in this game makes perfect sense except
for the life of me i can’t figure out why fister would intentionally walk sizemore with one out and no one on in the bottom of the second inning. also, i have no idea why, in the recap, the word “fact” is capitalized.
other than that i have no problem with this game, other than the Fact that it seems like the whole thing is just being made up.

but i'm pretty sure my favorite play
is hosmer sacrificing himself (with a man on first and nobody out in the first inning) by lining out to second base.
ah yes, the old sacrifice line out.

Don’t forget to add the scenario where Fielder is out for an extended period after bypass surgery.

what do they put in the water up there in twink land?
and the series is OVA!!!
game 5 is probably the best one yet. here’s my favorite parts:
Do these games matter. In the grand scheme of things, no they do not
Heck, the Division as we know it might be turned upside down by the time we reach October with the Indians and Kansas City Royals locked in a tight battle with the Twins close behind. Meanwhile it is the Tigers and White Sox trying to avoid last place where the Tigers discovered that Fielder is nothing but a bench filler
7. Dirks hits a long fly ball to Left center field, Choo is under it but drops the ball. In an attempt to recover the ball, Choo accicently kicks the ball to the wall forcing Span to come after the ball, but he stumbles into Choo causing Choo to roll his ankle. The result is a four base error charged to Shin-Soo Choo as when the ball finally made it back into the Infield, Dirks had a inside the Park home run. Peralta scores, Dirks Scores (Error Charged to Choo, Fielded by 8 and thrown to 2 in an attempt to get the trailing runner) Replacement: Alex Gordon enters the game to play Left Field for AL Central.

i mean, this is all very disheartening.
he messes us around for a 5 game series then tells us the games don’t matter? i’m just completely lost now. i don’t even know what matters anymore.
