Oswalt?
I recently read that Roy Oswalt turned down an offer of 5K to pitch for a year for the Cardinals. Is there a particular reason the WSox wouldn't be "in" for Roy at say 6-7K a year? With a club option?
Humber did not throw a full compliment of 200 innings last year, and Sale has only pitched in the high 130's split between College and Majors. I have already heard talk of limiting Sale's innings, and not sold on Humber for the year. Nor am I sold on Peavy lasting an entire year.
Thoughts?

i'd be delighted if they got him for six or seven grand,
but i am pretty sure there are rules against paying people so little.
also, he turned the white sox down once before, so screw him.

Money
In a year where the sox are not expected to compete why would they waste 5-7M on Oswalt when they could just run some young arms like Stewart, Molina, and Axelrod out there and see what they have?
I don't think Oswalt
would come to pitch on the South Side even if we offered him that money. He is looking to improve his value, and coming to the American League in a hitters ballpark will do nothing to help him.
really?

Nice to see you can take a compliment. Others have trouble with that.

Oswalt's rejected a trade to the Sox before.
Well, not so much rejected a trade as said he would reject a trade.
I remember the days when a pitcher would come to the White Sox for 5k
Wait no I don’t, I wasn’t born. Anyone here born then? Just asking?

Not cool to advertise on someone else's blog.
But good luck to you. 55 followers is about 54 more than I have.
We're all here because we're not all there.
re advertising, I didn't know if you were talking about his twitter sig or talking about his blog
either way, commenters here have had links to shit in their sigs for years. (including something called a sox machine, whatever that is.)
I had my twitter link and blog on my page for years as well
I also had WU bust my balls for years as well

Thank you.
I am nothing if not consistent. But announcing your blog’s launch on another blog is, to me, a little gauche. But I am a competitive cuss.
