So I'm in Toulouse now on vacation. I had a little time last night so I decided to turn on the TV. I flipped through the channels for about a minute or two and then noticed that the channels appeared to be repeating. I thought maybe I was now looking at the HD channels. Then they repeated again! Oh mon dieu non! I looked at the remote to see where the "guide" button was. THERE WAS NO GUIDE BUTTON! WTF!! So I click through the channels again. 20!! Channels!! All but two of them were in French, one appeared to be in some other nonsense non-language like Italian and the other was CNN International. WTF!! And none are in HD! So then I notice there's a "Menu" button on the remote. I push it. THE TV ASKS ME IF I WANT TO ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE TV!! So I call the front desk and ask WTF is up with the cable. The Frog chuckles in his snooty Frog way and says "Sir, this is France, not the States. The government limits us to 20 channels because that is more than a person requires." He then tells me I should go to a museum. I told him to go find a German dominatrix to surrender to. I last visited France 7 years ago and I had thought these communists would have stepped into the 21st century with their cable channel selection. I'm off to go find a job. With all these lazy French around me sucking off the teat of the state, I figure there must be a ton of them. WTF.
