I told Rhubarb I'd get to Germany before (an unspecified) February, so here I am, approaching February and not quite sure it's meant to be this one.
How could I continue on with the trip tales at a time like this? Germany's not going anywhere.
Right now I got pop culture on the brain and a warm cat in my lap. (Not that she has anything to do with this.)
The Super Bowl is a few days away and for the first time since 2007, I am making a point to watch the spectacle. Nothing fancy planned, just hanging in my usual couch corner of the world at my good friend's place; but I'll be watching. I do want the Seahawks to win for this city's overall sports heart health and for the many true-blue devotees here.
Where does your rooting interest lie, Chicagoans and other-placers? I know Pete Carroll draws the ire, but I don't fully understand why, I think they're all dillweeds with masculinity issues.
Anyone have a fun plan or particular tradition for the Super Bowl? Anyone gonna get hiiiiigh?
Unrelated to football, I also wanted to pulse the rumpus room about songs for a "party mix" (I'm sure a better description for this has emerged since the 90s). I have my old standbys, but wish to add something fresh to the assortment. I want to dance, I want variety, new and old, all genres apply. What songs does your "party mix" not leave home without?
