BMO 2009-2010: Nice Guys Get Eliminated

2008 is in the books and the New York Mets defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in a relatively quick World Series. Both teams look like they have a bright immediate future and should contend again.

Jim Thome was traded to Atlanta at the deadline in hopes of securing the elusive championship but it was not to be. The Mets have acquired Thome in hopes of carrying him to a much deserved title. The status of the reward for a Thome championship seems to have grown with the possibility of retirement.

I'm about to announce the 2008 Silver Sluggers below in the comments. It was requested that I review the criteria that I use for the awards. I take a combination of what is posted for the real world awards and of what most of us would deem more valuable stats such as wOBA, wRC+, and wRAA. I use all-time averages from fangraphs to fill in the gaps for things that BMO doesn't provide us to calculate those stats. It isn't perfect but since it is the same for all of our fake players everyone seems to agree it is good enough. I haven't yet found the time to share the full spreadsheet from this league online. Hopefully in the upcoming BMO year (the next 2 weeks) as I spend time in hotels with not much else to do I will find the motivation to pull the laptop out of the bag and send the thing out to google drive and post a link somewhere and everyone can look at the data for their starters on offense for all of the years since the reset.

We have plenty of NL teams available and we encourage you to sign up by expressing your interest in the comments below!

Here is you link to all the BMO fun.
