The White Sox have placed reliever Nate Jones on the 15 day DL, and recalled Jake Petricka from Charlotte.
Jones came into the spring with a sore left hip/glute and that same injury has now put him on the DL. While he seemed OK in the spring, Jones has had his share of problems in his two appearance so far during the regular season. With four hits and three walks given up in zero innings, his ERA of ∞ has been a big contributor to the problems seen by the bullpen so far.
Jake Petricka returns to the Sox after being sent to Charlotte at the end of spring training. He appeared in 16 games with the Sox last season. He did have issues with control in the majors, walking ten batters in 19⅓ innings. While he did improve that significantly this spring, two walks in 9⅓ innings, he still has show this improvement in the major leagues.
