DH Land 2017..Why not MOREland?

Adam LaRoche has busted for us big time.. Do say his Gold Glove defense is valuable at this point is a stretch.. He hits more balls then he catches and neither number is high. He is a good defender and has won Gold Gloves but him being a primary DH makes that almost irrelevant. 2016 is his last year here and I find it VERY hard to see them re sign him. espically considering he's going to be 36 this season. Everyone will look at Tex, Bautista and Encarnacion. but the guy the White Sox should look into is Mississippi born and raised 1st Baseman/DH/ Outfielder Mitch Moreland. Moreland has to have some of the best raw power in the league.. and hes finally using it in games on a regular basis. A Texas Ranger for life Moreland has always impressed with his power.. going as far as hitting the first Rangers World Series home run in franchise History. He could never seem to make it a consistent asset until 2013 when he hit 23 home runs with a .232 in an injury plagued season. 2014 he missed most of the season with another injury and he could squander all of 2 home runs through most of the first half. He Came back into 2015 with a boom. slugging 23 home runs .278 and 85 RBIS with the above good glove he has always had. Moreland was even made starting 1B man when Prince Fielder himself said Moreland is a better first baseman than he is and the team is better off with Mitch out there. Big words from the big fellow and Moreland gave bigger results. He has good gap power and decent speed with 27 doubles last year. Moreland might i remind you is the guy the Rangers kept over Chris Davis and I believe they are starting to reap the rewards of there choice, All be it maybe too late. Moreland is set to become a free agent after the 2016 season and he should find a number of good offers from teams that need a 1B/DH and the White Sox fit in that group...big time. LaRoche should NOT expect to be on this club after this season, assuming he doesn't retire. Jose Abreu is a flat out monster at the plate and while his defense is not anywhere near as bad scouts made it out to be when he came here for the 2014 season. Abreu wasnt your typical rookie as he was 27 when he debuted here in the States.. grant you that's not old by any stretch but its no 20,21,22 year old prospect booming through the system. That being said, He wont be winning any Gold Gloves anytime soon, that's where Moreland can help. He can DH and 1B as needed and make a good lefty break up of our right handed sluggers Abreu and Frazier and not have us rely on Adam Eaton of all people as our main Left Handed power source. Not to knock Eaton or his abilities but our lead-off hitter sound NOT be second on our team in Homers as he is a lead-off hitter and is not at-bat with runners on enough to make a huge difference. With Moreland, Abreu and Frazier..Eaton hitting 14 home runs can be a pleasant addition more than a dyer need. All in All.. it would be GREAT addition and it is well needed.
