Seriously...
Mackoviak....Ozuna....

What does Anderson have to do to get a start?

by SnakeBite11 on Apr 21, 2007 12:02 PM CDT up reply actions

Seriously...
Just send Anderson down already and call up Luis Terrero or sign Eduardo Perez.  This sh!t is ridiculous.

by SSH2005 on Apr 21, 2007 12:07 PM CDT up reply actions

This side-arm only Contreras sucks.
How about throwing an overhand fastball?  Maybe it will get past 90 MPH.

by SSH2005 on Apr 21, 2007 12:12 PM CDT reply actions

Defense starts shaky
Guess we deserver that with a converted left fielder out there

by Brush Back on Apr 21, 2007 12:14 PM CDT reply actions

According to the Tribune
BA was scheduled to start today.
Starting assignments have been rare for Brian Anderson, even since a right adductor strain sidelined Scott Podsednik indefinitely.

So Anderson isn't trying to draw greater significance to his rare scheduled start Saturday against Tigers left-hander Nate Robertson.

I wonder what changed Ozzie's mind.

by Ryno on Apr 21, 2007 12:28 PM CDT reply actions

cowley
"Anderson is scheduled to get his third start this afternoon."

this afternoon? he probably means charlottes's 6pm game...

by The Wizard on Apr 21, 2007 12:33 PM CDT up reply actions

cowley...
or X-Box MLB 2007... wonder wh he is playing against

by Brush Back on Apr 21, 2007 12:36 PM CDT up reply actions

To keep him somewhat normal...
Shouldn't Contreras at least be pitching to AJ?  Or do him and Molina have a history together?

by fliesinhiseyes on Apr 21, 2007 12:31 PM CDT reply actions

I don't think there's any history between the two
This is Molina's first year in the bigs.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:35 PM CDT up reply actions

9 up, 9 down
I'm not sure we should even take the field vs. lefties.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:36 PM CDT reply actions

That was kinda funny.
Sheffield hit the ball about 4 inches, got tagged out by Molina, then couldn't get it through his thick skull that there are no mulligans in this game.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:41 PM CDT reply actions

Contreras looks awful
Way too many hard hit fly-outs (and some that have not been outs).

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 12:43 PM CDT reply actions

Bye-bye No-no
Pablo rips a double.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:44 PM CDT reply actions

That double got in Robertson's head
Suddenly he can't find the zone - 2 walks load the bases for Paulie.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:48 PM CDT reply actions

A gift..
Plus another... Inge messed up easy double play, then Guillen saves Dye from a double play

by Brush Back on Apr 21, 2007 12:51 PM CDT up reply actions

4-1!
Perfect triple play setup bumbled by Inge, everyone safe.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:50 PM CDT reply actions

Sweet! 4-2!
Should-be DP botched.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:50 PM CDT reply actions

Is this the World Series?
Why are the Tigers making so many errors?

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 12:50 PM CDT reply actions

Joe!
RBI single to left!  Keep it going!

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:52 PM CDT reply actions

Atta boy Joey
Way to go to the right side

by beeramid on Apr 21, 2007 12:52 PM CDT reply actions

Oh, yeah - to right
I sometimes get confused.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:54 PM CDT up reply actions

Grind-Tastastic
Fielders choice... on the corners

by Brush Back on Apr 21, 2007 12:55 PM CDT reply actions

Juan chases one to end it
But 3 runs with no homers is good to see.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 12:56 PM CDT reply actions

I would have prefered
6 runs with 1 homer

by ymj0000000 on Apr 21, 2007 12:56 PM CDT reply actions

Still feels like a wasted opportunity to me...
I mean, other than Joe's single, there were still no good ABs with RISP.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 12:57 PM CDT reply actions

Oh...
other than the walks by Gooch and Thome... forgot Ozuna was on 2nd

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 12:58 PM CDT up reply actions

That's a shame for Robertson
All 3 of those runs are earned and I'm all tore up about it.

by beeramid on Apr 21, 2007 12:59 PM CDT reply actions

Quick 1-2-3
Per Hawk, 11 in a row for the Count

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:01 PM CDT reply actions

Pablito
looked like a little leaguer out there with his "safe!" gesture and fist pumps

by beeramid on Apr 21, 2007 1:07 PM CDT reply actions

Ozuna's in Robertson's head
He can't focus with Pablo on the basepaths.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:08 PM CDT reply actions

While I am seeing WHY Detroit lost the WS...
I am now having trouble seeing how they got there in the first place.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 1:09 PM CDT reply actions

One word
Pitching.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:10 PM CDT up reply actions

Sac fly for Thome
And we're tied at 4

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:11 PM CDT reply actions

Nice...
Really worried about a punchout there.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 1:11 PM CDT reply actions

i just woke up
still no anderson and I read the comment in the other entry saying Anderson will only play center when Erstad plays first.  Just amazing...I don't know if it is getting funnier or if it is even past that point.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 1:15 PM CDT reply actions

I think we passed funny
Went right on by ridiculous, and are now deep into the realm of absurdity.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Nice stat from DJ
The Count's gone first pitch strike to 15 of 19 hitters.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:21 PM CDT reply actions

Oh boy
Maggs just crushed a solo shot.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:34 PM CDT reply actions

wow
he pulled it off.

dis kid does the lil things

Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 1:42 PM CDT up reply actions

Zumaya's coming in
Triple-digits are always fun to watch.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:44 PM CDT reply actions

wow
it actually worked out

by BustedFlush on Apr 21, 2007 1:44 PM CDT reply actions

wow
tigers can handle that play.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 1:46 PM CDT reply actions

Meanwhile...
It's early, but KC's up 2-1 over East Dakota

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 1:49 PM CDT reply actions

Zumaya will bridge to Jones...
Gotta hope to get to the closer then... with the bottom of the order... ugh

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 1:49 PM CDT reply actions

I let one out!
I tried to make it Hawk-style, but I don't know if that counts.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 2:03 PM CDT up reply actions

Joe!
way to grind that one out boys!

by BustedFlush on Apr 21, 2007 2:03 PM CDT reply actions

Yes!
Joe Crede RBI single off the flamethrower.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:03 PM CDT reply actions

ughh
erstad
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:03 PM CDT reply actions

wow
saw that coming
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:04 PM CDT up reply actions

Even when striking out on 3 pitches...
something good to say... he must be one hell of a charmer.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 2:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Ugly
Erstad had NO chance in that AB

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:04 PM CDT reply actions

Uribe's got the best
swing-and-miss in baseball

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:06 PM CDT reply actions

KC tacked 1 on
They lead 3-1.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:14 PM CDT reply actions

And as soon as I type that
It's now 3-2.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Fuck!
3-3.  I'm closing that browser window.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:19 PM CDT up reply actions

Was on the Bulls...
Logan?  How did he look?  That Ozzie... he's testing me... I am convinced

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 2:14 PM CDT reply actions

Couldn't tell ya
I blinked and missed it.  Matchup Man's in full effect.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:17 PM CDT up reply actions

what did cheat say...
about handedness with a close game.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:19 PM CDT reply actions

Bad enough I am subjected to Sheff here...
Then I have to watch the Bulls take on a team that still has yet to commit a foul in their own minds.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 2:27 PM CDT up reply actions

Nice job by MacDougal there
Mags gave him a tough at-bat, and Mac came out with a K.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:25 PM CDT reply actions

i thought BA would get an at bat
nope, pinch hit for by Mackowiak.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:30 PM CDT reply actions

Oh for fuck's sake
BA got his chance - he pinch ran - now put that bat down and sit on your ass, it's Mack's turn.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:30 PM CDT reply actions

you know
i don't think it counts as an out if you hit it to the right side of the infield.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:35 PM CDT reply actions

Cintron
is he our only positional player left?
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:37 PM CDT reply actions

I believe
You are correct, sir.

by Blue Seat in Left on Apr 21, 2007 2:41 PM CDT up reply actions

Yes
Because, you know, you don't want to have Anderson hit.

by SnakeBite11 on Apr 21, 2007 2:52 PM CDT up reply actions

the last time Erstad was good...
Ozzie Guillen was still playing.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:42 PM CDT reply actions

I am hoping...
Ozzie leaves Double A in for a while.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 2:52 PM CDT reply actions

woah
DJ just said that the last 2 months of the season last year...Anderson really came around.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 2:57 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah...
that whole schpeil was confusing... he also said something about Ozzie sticking with him.  It makes you wonder what DJ was watching.

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 3:00 PM CDT up reply actions

JD!
So nice to see them string some hits together

by beeramid on Apr 21, 2007 2:59 PM CDT reply actions

Say what you want about Rodney
But that's a bitchin King Tut goatee he's got working there

by beeramid on Apr 21, 2007 3:01 PM CDT reply actions

King Tut
He'd better pray to Osiris to get out of this inning...

by IceColdFalstaff on Apr 21, 2007 3:03 PM CDT up reply actions

erstad
MOVE EM OVER
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 3:02 PM CDT reply actions

ERSTAD
thats cause that ball had so much grind off his bat.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 3:03 PM CDT reply actions

Use the radio
...can't get Ed Farmer?  I'd rather light a candle than curse the darkness.  Or the Darrinness.

by IceColdFalstaff on Apr 21, 2007 3:06 PM CDT up reply actions

WSCR is like 5-10 seconds behind
but I still opened it, I couldn't take DJ anymore...

WSCR is like 5-10 seconds behind the TV feed
but I still opened it, I couldn't take DJ anymore...

by The Wizard on Apr 21, 2007 3:17 PM CDT up reply actions

i like uribe.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 3:07 PM CDT reply actions

I can't see the TV...
...does Bobby still have parmesean cheese all over his cap?

by IceColdFalstaff on Apr 21, 2007 3:10 PM CDT reply actions

hard to tell
but I don't think so.

White Sox winner!

by BustedFlush on Apr 21, 2007 3:14 PM CDT up reply actions

pray to the Gods that this game doesn't
go any longer. Ozzie has torn through our bullpen.

by BustedFlush on Apr 21, 2007 3:13 PM CDT reply actions

yay
2 out of 3...tomorrow will be tough.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 3:14 PM CDT reply actions

Well 2 out of 2...
tomorrow isn't so hard that I am conceding it already

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 3:15 PM CDT up reply actions

my bad
i meant 2 out of 3 at worst.
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 3:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Ah!
Nice easy 1-2-3 for Bobby.  Kinda forgot what those are like.

by beeramid on Apr 21, 2007 3:15 PM CDT reply actions

Seeing Sheffield slump...
...brings tears of joy to my eyes.  Good win.

by RoyEgan on Apr 21, 2007 3:16 PM CDT reply actions

Tiger Taming
Look out Central, here come the Pale Hose!

by IceColdFalstaff on Apr 21, 2007 3:17 PM CDT reply actions

i would
but I missed the first 4 innings and I'm heading off to the brewer game in a few minutes
Go Badgers!

by shaftr on Apr 21, 2007 3:19 PM CDT up reply actions

I would but...
...I didn't see it.  Plus, I don't know if that stuff on Bobby's cap is powdered sugar or cheese or what.  I'm not ruling out alfredo sauce.

by IceColdFalstaff on Apr 21, 2007 3:19 PM CDT up reply actions

I can do it...
though I would be a first timer so it may be a bit rough around the edges

by CatBrains on Apr 21, 2007 3:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Our bullpen
Feel free to use this in the recap:

Our bullpen in this game: 3IP, 1H, 1BB, 4K
For the year:            53IP, 41H, 20BB, 53K

We lead the league in Bullpen K/9

This is exactly what KW said he was gonna do: Build the ultimate power bullpen.

by bhoov on Apr 21, 2007 3:27 PM CDT reply actions

yeah
as others have said time and time again, the central is an arms race, our BP is locked up till 2010+, and we have some promising arms coming up.
