The White Sox's full-season affiliates wrapped up their regular seasons on Monday. Here's where they finished:
The Knights finished with the worst record in the International League, which is pretty remarkable considering they led the league in runs scored with 699. Alas, they also led the league in runs allowed (767). It wasn't all bad news, as the opening of BB&T Ballpark helped them lead all of the minors in attendance with 687,715, after drawing just 254,834 last season. They put together a relatively good show for their fans with a 35-37 record at home.
The Barons tied for the worst record in the Southern League with Reds Double-A affiliate Pensacola. Also like the Knights, Birmingham led the league in runs allowed (688), but its offense finished in the bottom half in terms of runs scored.
The Dash ... wait for it ... finished with the worst record in the top-heavy Carolina League (only two teams finished with records above .500). They also ... wait for it ... led the league in runs allowed with 671, while scoring only 588.
Kannapolis Intimidators: 62-75
The Intimidators did not finish with the worst record in the Sally League. In fact, five whole teams stand in between Kannapolis and the cellar. The Intimidators also stand out by having a middle-of-the-pack pitching staff (615 runs allowed), which wasn't enough to prop up a scuffling offense (568 runs; second-worst).
Great Falls is the only affiliate to play beyond today. The Voyagers finish up their regular-season schedule at Billings today, and then start the postseason against Missoula on Wednesday.
Monday's box scores will appear in the comments shortly.
