The Chicago White Sox have optioned right-handed pitcher D.J. Carrasco to Class AAA Charlotte and have sent right-hander Esteban Loaiza to Class AA Birmingham on an injury rehabilitation assignment.

Carrasco's contract was purchased from Charlotte on July 9 to take the roster spot of Bobby Jenks. He made one appearance for the White Sox, allowing one run on four hits over 5.1 IP on July 11 at Texas, the longest appearance by a Sox reliever since Sean Lowe also went 5.1 IP on May 24, 1999 at Cleveland. ...
