Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers recalled pitcher Bill White from Class-A Bakersfield and placed pitcher Doug Mathis on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday. The 29-year-old White will be making his second stint with the Rangers this season, as he was with the club from August 25-29. The lefty made a scoreless relief appearance on Thursday against the Angels before being optioned to Bakersfield on Friday. Mathis became the first pitcher in the 48-year history of the Washington/Texas franchise to collect a relief win in his first major league appearance. The victory came way back on May 12 versus Seattle, and the righty has recently experienced shoulder problems that landed him on the disabled list.
